Creating music together

This contest is all about bringing talent together to collaborate and make awesome music. Everybody is able to participate. People who produce music but cannot sing themselves could use vocals but it is hard to look for without money. On the other side people who sing or rap could use good beats to record original music that is unique to them too.

Get a record contest

Thus both the music producer and vocalist on Steemit can work together on something great. So to enhance that I present to you the ‘’Get a Record contest’’ where collaborations between two strangers can lead to awesome new music ventures. To make sure the result is worth the recognition everybody can participate and it does not matter if you don’t have a studio,the only thing needed is for vocalists to be able to record their voice over the track, and also be able to make an acapella track to use in case the track wins.

• The contest will take 2 weeks each time, where round 1 / the first week is all about the beats, and round 2 / the second week is about the vocals.

• All styles of music are allowed, and all kinds of music is possible. Also for vocals is everything possible.

How it works

Giving the opportunity to Steemians to have their voice on a record which is made possible by the "Get a Record’’ contest. With the benefit of getting discovered or to find and make new connections with fellow music lovers on Steemit.

Information

• Total days for one track to win: 14 (2 weeks)

• Vocalist can start when round 1 is still running because submitted beats to use for round 2 will be available on the to yet to be announced soundcloud account. After 7 days round 1 ends and submission of beats stops and vocalists can submit the beats they choose with their vocals added.

• Pricesystem = winning track takes all. Producer and vocalist share the award 50%-50%.

• The amount will be 50 $BD in the beginning, when the contest grows the pricemoney will rise.

• The track will be mixed professionally and will appear on a special mix album when there are 16 weeks or 8 rounds done.

Discord Channel

So to bring people together we made a discord channel dedicated to building a community for music creation, discussion, curation etc. for users of Steemit specifically will be used to interact with people about the contest. The channel is called Steemit Music Alliance #SMA. And it's really awesome. We've already tested the SMA channel and it was possible to jam live using a bot to livestream our records and to play guitar in real time with the listeners enjoying the show!

For the best results, make sure to interact with the producer or us on Discord in the Steemit Music Alliance Channel.
In the future people who win in the ‘’Get a Record’’ contest will be invited and interviewed on the radio of SMA as also their winning track discussed. So keep that in mind. Your talent will be heard and you receive some fame aswell.

Vocalist are responsible for delivering the end result:

Everybody can be a singer and get on a record now. You make the record by providing your voice, you vocalists are responsible for winning as long as the quality of both beat and singing/ rapping is good enough and the result enhances the beat. Make sure to choose a beat with high quality that fits your preferences and ideas.
Work together, get in contact with the person who made the beat you use. And get tips or help with the recording . Try to connect and learn from your beat producer. Like in the real life music business ;). Hear each others creations on the demo feedback radio on discord.

Summary

Day 1 – 7 (round 1)

• Send Beats
• Interact with vocalists to get them ready to choose you in round 2

Day 8 – 14 (round 2)

• Record vocals on alongside the beat, and be sure to have the recording of the vocals without anything, so no beats or anything purely vocals (by recording your voice while have the beat playing on headphones)
• Send in the recording with vocals at least (or better also the acapella recording as well) by uploading it or make a post and link to it in the comment section of the #getarecord post / or submit it on the discord channels group for the contest.
• The winning track receives the prizemoney and further information.

How to win?

• quality must be big for both the instrumental (beat) as final track (with vocals)
• How does the vocal add to the track?
• Hows the timing of the singing and the tone?
• Has the vocal any story or message
• Is it original ? Or does it sounds cheap?
