REVIEW: "Woman" by Justice

Simply because they are a French electronica act that debuted around the same time as Daft Punk, Justice has always found themselves being compared to their other, more well-known countrymen. There are some similarities, particularly in the early work of both bands, but the comparison has become increasingly unfair. On the latest LP from Justice, they distance themselves even further, taking on an even more prog-rock inspired sound than they had previously. The results are mostly pretty amazing, with the striking melodies carrying the record to some gorgeous and euphoric heights. Singles "Safe and Sound" and "Randy" are particular highlights, along with chilled out closing track "Close Call", though there really isn't a bad tune to be found here. This is techno that even your parents might like, and that's not a bad thing. ★★★★ out of 5.
