Unkettled: A Nomadic Storytelling of Music, Medicine and Activism -- UPCOMING SHOW MARCH 1st in CHICAGO!
How do we really grow community? Like really really?
This is a question that inspired a journey begun last year by myself and the incredible musician Hannah Fidler
With our combined loves of music as medicine, herbalism, mobility and frontlines cultural activism, we created "Unkettled," a fluid gathering of stories and healing experiences. From the Midwest through the plains, over the Colorado mountains, the Nevada desert (with a lovely little hotspring stop in there!) to the Bay Area in California, to the Sonoran desert of central Arizona, the forests of Arkansas and back to the bustling Midwest; we grew ever so grateful for all the incredible people and plants we met.
The path goes ever on and on . . . 
With a portable battery powered back pack amplifier, a pair of tabla drums, a full array of home grown and wild crafted herbal teas, mircophones and a gopro, we dove into the process of interviewing real Changemakers; people we see as being very much on the frontlines of bringing a new Culture of Caring into being.
Those interviews, those stories, those people, were so incredible that we just HAD to compose brand new music inspired by them!
And now we are coming to the culmination of the gestation period! We've brought some other local musicians into the fold for these compositions, now we're ready and rearing to go with a full band and some steamy herbal tea :)
We are very excited to bring the Unkettled magic to ya!
This is a project born of music, medicine, activism, nomadic life and above all, stories! As we Interviewed folks on the intersection of these themes; it became clear that there is such rich abundance in sharing how we come to be HERE, and especially in how we help each other get where we need to go; to create a new paradigm, a new culture of caring for the beautiful diversity of experience.
We have a full delicious set of music cooking up for our SHOW COMING UP MARCH 1ST at the FULTON STREET COLLECTIVE right here in the Windy City and will be serving some homegrown herbal tea to boot.
This project is all about paying it forward and sideways and all-ways. What this mean? Any help you can send our way will go towards AMPLIFYING voices that are not ordinarily heard, linking together allies, embellishing and illuminating YOUR lives with music and art, and most importantly paying our respects to our elders and youth leaders, to the healers, warriors, protectors and dreamers! It means we are assembling an archive of stories, a medicine chest full of hearty adaptogenic human amazingness; guaranteed to help us all GROW through the stress of these times. It means that our DREAM is to interlink this passion with your passions!
As I said, we see this project as a fluid gathering, a mobile "node" in a growing network of Caretakers and Givers, of people and plants and everything in between. Can you feel these roots growing outward? We want to know your stories too :)
