I'm offering free royalty-free music for your project

in #music8 years ago (edited)

Hi guys,

I am new to this so don't be too hard on me.

Quick intro on me:

I stumpled upon steemit a while ago but didn't actively use it until today, when I had an idea on how to contribute to the community a bit. Since a couple of years now, I have spent quite some time composing and writing music, recording voice-overs and working on sound design for TV- and Radio commercials. When I'm not writing for a specific project and have some spare time, I rework some tunes that didn't quite make it into a project and sell them online on stock content marketplaces such as audiojungle.

Free music

I thought it would be great to just give it a try and provide some tunes for free here on steemit so people can use it on their tutorials, ads, vlogs, etc.. Making money out of it is not my priority. It's just a way to make a nice contribution. But if I do somehow earn something (through Steem or via the uploaded PPC link), I of course don't mind. What's your thought on that?

I will start with a very cheesy corporate track I digged out today :-) I admit it's not a masterpiece, but it's a start. It's basically a bunch of guitars and some claps. Very friendly. Your mum might like it. It's called "Corporate Guitar". It's on 95 BPM in case that's relevant for you.

TL;DR

I'm giving away music for free, that you can use on your commercial projects, wedding video, full length feature film or blooper real.

Very cool. The "TIYM" Steemit video I produced a few months back featured music from another Steemian. This might open the door for another project. ;-)

I think this is a terrific idea.

If you've got these on your website, you might also want to include a "tip jar" where you can accept BTC or other digital currency as well as a Paypal button. Something to think about!

Such a great idea and way to contribute to the community! Well done. Please keep posting, I might use your music in vblogs or presentations.

For those that do use your material, is there a preferred way to give you credit and perhaps a link to your site/blog (perhaps Steemit page)?

Glad you like it! For the moment you could just link to my steemit profile!

Hi guys, so far the file has 0 downloads :-) . Not that I'm disappointed but I just wondered wether the fact that I uploaded the file to uploaded.to causes you guys pain (pop-up windows, etc.). Would you prefer that I host it on my private server? Or is the track that bad, lol :-)

Just downloaded good buddy. Better late than never I always said. ;)

It's pretty upbeat. I like it :)

@niklas GREAT TO HAVE YOU
I could use royalty free music in my VR videos. We can get famous together lol

Let's conquer VR :-). I would just have to look into spatial sounddesign/mixing. Maybe you'll hear from me on that!

Music is great! :)

This sounds like a great idea. I occasionally use stock tracks for video projects, so I'll keep this in mind.

Welcome to Steemit! I hope this works out for you.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll try to get some more innovative tracks up here soon.

Awesome. If you find yourself really liking a certain track, don't be afraid to ask for a donation/payment for it . You'll find that there are a lot of people here willing to support artistic creators.

On that note, if I find a track from you that I like and need one for a project, even if you're not asking for payment, I'll likely send you one anyway. It won't make you rich, but it'll be better than giving it away for free!

Thanks, good idea. I have tracks for sale on all of the major marketplaces so If I have one which I think will sell really good, I will most likely offer it there. But the donation/pay-what-you-like theme is a nice idea. Do you think just posting a Bitcoin address will be a good way of payment for that?

Possibly. But one of the ways to help build the ecosystem here, and to make the transfers really simple/convenient for the buyer, is to just use the wallet on this platform. It's just a 3-second transfer and you can ask for either STEEM or SBD, depending on how you'll use/save it.

Cool, thanks. Haven't quite wrapped my head around steem, power and dollars but will do asap.

Very nice gesture! Will be looking into this for sure. :)

Excellent! There are a lot of opportunities for collaborative projects on this platform.

Sounds Good!
