I started getting sick of listening to studio perfected music, and have been listening to a tonne of live performances instead. My favourite venue recently (besides KEXP) is the NPR Tiny Desk Concerts.

You can see how much the venue changed: Here is Alt-J in 2017!

That performance above never stops blowing my mind. How tight they are, the quality of sound, and the mistakes! Yes, give me those real and honest mistakes! It's what I crave in music these days. Realness.
Alt-J (stylised as alt-J, or ∆) is an English indie rock band formed in 2007 in Leeds, by Joe Newman (guitar/lead vocals), Thom Sonny Green (drums), Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboards/vocals) and Gwil Sainsbury (guitar/bass).
I actually listen to the Atlantic Countdown on Sunday mornings. I'm amazed by the quality of music in those four little provinces...especially Cape Breton, and around Halifax and St. John, N.B.

There is a recording done of Brandi Carlile's The Story that I have from a CD a local radio station puts out every year of their favorites from their live studio recordings, and it is the best version ever. The first time I heard the album version was after and I was like ...no. LOL Unfortunately, I can't find it on YouTube or the station's site (they only seem to have newer ones up) or anything to share around with friends online. Other live versions I've heard also aren't as good. It was just the perfect performance!
AWESOME STUFF!!
Alt-J are my kind of weirdos.
Tight is right! Pretty talented bunch. Are they Maritimes based, or...?
English I believe...
Yea...the one guy's accident was definitely English.

I do try to keep my music mistakes to a minimum...LOL
Neil Young was an artist who I noticed leaves mistakes in his recordings! It makes is so much more raw and emotional... to me anyhow.
