Me in "Metal Mode" (LOL)
I love music and all styles of music, with exceptions. My favorite styles are Brazilian popular music, samba, 80s pop (A-ha and Depeche Mode), 50s rock, classical, opera, country (Johnny Cash) and ... Heavy Metal. Yes friends, I'm an unconditional fan of heavy metal and it's a musical style that did not get stuck in my teens. My favorite follow-up to heavy metal I like is classic heavy metal with those interminable choruses, power metal and the epic metal that mixes elements of baroque music with heavy metal. Contrary to what many people think, heavy metal is a musical style that does not have in its music lyrics with a high negative charge like "satanic" songs etc.
If you stop to understand and absorb the lyrics of bands like Stratovarius, Nightwish, Rhapsody, Angra, you will see great literary works, songs that deal with our daily lives, the problems of life, love and overcoming difficulties.
Heavy Metal is Cool!
My connection to this musical style began about 20 years ago. I was 9 years old and I went with my father to a record store in the days leading up to my birthday and I was fascinated by a CD that had a doll on the cover with A messy hair, looked like a skeleton. It was Eddie, the mascot of the Iron Maiden, the CD was "The Best of the Beast", a compilation of Maiden's best songs until 1996, a beautiful album. I asked my father and he bought it for me. My favorite song on that record is "2 Minutes to Midnight".
The years passed and I arrived in the most difficult and full of crises of all of us that is the adolescence. I confess that this period was the most difficult, confusing, controversial of my life. But I had some successes, and one of them was to have a radio program on the community radio where I lived and my show was rightly aimed at the audience that listened, was a fan and admired the Heavy Metal music style. The name of my program was "Backstage". The radio show has managed to have a lot of audiences. I could even bring some new metal bands to publicize their works and shows, doing interviews etc ... but the program ended after prejudice of the directors of the radio with respect to this musical style.
"Brasil Heavy Metal", music from the Brazilian Heavy metal band "Stress"
I understand that music, before being a commercial product acts as a transformation agent. Not only heavy metal, but pop, electronic music and all other musical styles must be respected and each one has its strengths and weaknesses. I have never studied and I do not know the most theoretical and didactic part of the music, but working a little in this area and being a fan, consumer of this product, we must bear in mind that before judging a musical style, we must be aware that all are part of the same inspiration, from the same source as the famous musical climbs that we studied when we were in school. What changes is only an "exploration" in lesser or greater degree of the instruments like guitar, drums, keyboard, bass and the voice ... acute or deep.
Good Sunday to Everyone!

We all have our wild rebel inside who needs to be expressed . Growing up with classical music in a conservative Vienna I got into 70's funk and mostly Jazz
I believe that all styles of music must be experienced. I love Bach, Chopin, Vivaldi, Mozart etc ... and at the same time I love Depeche Mode, A-ha, Metallica, Moby (electronic music), Bee Gees, The Who ...
It's endless right !!?? That's my passion to explore and it was my job to bring the fun to the people
I agree wit you: metal is cool! As you, I love all style of music, from pop to jazz, blues, rock, etc and metal (just something, not everything, sure ^_^) is one of the style that I love ;)
I'm glad to see you here @silviabeneforti. Yes, all styles of music have your "bad" and "good", this is the important to know. Thank you :)
Iron Maiden is one of my favorite heavy metal bands. The fact that they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame discredits that entire institution.
As a Brazilian heavy metal fan, you must be familiar with Sepultura! If not, here is their website: http://www.sepultura.com.br/ They were one of the original and I believe most popular of the bands coming from Brazil (Belo Horizante). "Refuse/Resist" by Sepultura is one of my favorite metal songs ever.
Yeah...I know Sepultura man, I am brazilian :) My favorite song is "Roots" :D
Just checking! :)
"Roots" is also an amazing song. Hearing Max screaming "ROOOTS!!!! BLOODY ROOOTS!!!"... chilling!
