Deftones - Knife Prty (2000)

Knife Prty by Deftones from their third studio album, released in 2000, White Pony.

There isn't much that still stands from the late 1990s early 2000s nu-metal era. Deftones is one of the few bands from that time that managed to successfully reinvent themselves before the genre came crashing down. The release of White Pony was a transitioning point for the band to a more experimental rock sound.

Compared to earlier albums the vocals are more ethereal, the instruments more purpose driven and clear. White Pony still often circulates in my play lists to this day. Everything clicked on this album and for me it always marks as a positive end point for a period of music.

I think every song on the album is worth a listen but Knife Prty stands as one of my favorites.
