🎸Nineties Friday Vlog 🎙️
- Songs That Went Under Radar
- Five Tune Friday
- Shoulda Been Hits Tunes
- BonusJam’s
So it’s #NinetiesFriday and I’m doing #FiveTuneFriday 🎸
Today I’m picking five tunes either released in 1999 or recorded in 1999 and released in 2000. As I always say! The year 2000 was the nineties! Also a link between the tunes in they weren’t big hits but I think kinda should have been. I throw in some pop punk (Ataris,MxPx,New Found Glory) bands also just some melodic rock bands (Dexter Freebish,Stroke 9) similar vibe to say Third Eye Blind & Matchbox Twenty.
Band - The Ataris
Song - San Dimas High School Football Rules
Album - Blue Skies, Broken Hearts Next 12
Exits (1999)
Band - MxPx
Song -Responsibility
Album - The Ever Passing Moment (2000)
Those are the picks! Songs that I think shoulda got big radio play. I’m not saying there the best songs ever, just saying in my opinion they had that catchy magic thing. Sometimes it’s luck of the draw! For bonus picks below I’m picking songs that are big hits but easily could have been on list above. Sometimes it’s just luck! Sometimes there’s a reason as I discussed in my vlog above…
Band - SR-71
Song - Right Now
Album - Now You See Inside (2000)
Just a quick note as I discussed in vlog above. Just an example of how it’s random luck sometimes. SR-71’s song 1985 of there 2004 release bombed bad. No radio play or nothing! Hear it below ⬇️
Bombed so bad literally nobody knew it was written by them when 18 months later it blew up huge as a big hit when the band Bowling For Soup released there own version as years below ⬇️
Bowling For Soup made a deal to split publishing 50/50 with SR-71. They made some minor changes and boom luck of the draw it was a hit! I gotta say Bowling For Soup did make it better with adding lyrics and changing a couple chords, point made…
