ThreeTuneTuesday! 🎸 Sharing Tunes From The Mid Eighties From One Classic Yet Underrated Band! Hüsker Dü Band Spotlight! & Gene Talks Tunes Vlog 🎙️
On this April 8th Three Tune Tuesday
I’m focusing on one band from the eighties. The highly influential & underrated band Hüsker Dü. They have it out an album every single year from 1986 back to 1983. I will start in 1986 & work my way back to 1983. They started out a punk band and by the later 1986 record they were considered more alternative rock. They even scored a major label record deal for the 1986 final album. Let’s talk more about it ⬇️

Pretty amazing how many albums they put out from January 1983 - September 1987! 6 full lengths and a EP. All in less than 5 years! Wild!
I picked a song off each of my favorite three albums by the band. If you like what you hear go check out all 7 records on streaming!

For an extra bonus let’s go with Green Day playing a cover from the band live on MTV in the nineties. It’s the song Don't Want to Know If You Are Lonely from their first r first tune above. Here’s Green Day playing it!
For a Bonus! Here’s my girlfriend Ashlee’s Picks!
On this Three Tune Tuesday it’s a Ashlee solo post! Gene did his own post over at @geneeverett covering mid eighties Alternative rock band Hüsker Dü. So I’m going solo and also covering one band today. The pop punk band Wakefield!
A band who got the major label deal but never took that next step to mainstream success. I’ll be picking songs from the 2003 release “American Made”. A album released on a major label that is really a pop band more than punk who was in that wave of bands in the early 2000’s. They just didn’t get mainstream success. I saw them open for other bands when I was in high school and my friend Katie lost her virginity to the drummer .
All songs off the 2003 record American made!
