Hello Friends!
I don’t like it when people say something is a “Must Watch” because it feels pretty presumptuous…but I will say that if you are someone who generally enjoys my music covers – then I think you will really enjoy this one. I can’t really sing “My Immortal” without feeling a lot of emotion and I hope you can feel that back through the video.
I have been playing and singing this song since I was a teenager! There is something so moving about the melody and lyrics that always seem to really move me. It’s funny, because my sister @maryjaney once asked me why I always played sad songs. I guess the piano just draws that out of me! haha Maybe that’s why I started playing the ukulele… to help balance things out a little.

Damn, Girl... This song was a great match for your voice. The "All of me" note you hit at 1:08 was haunting in every right way. The slower tempo was perfect to give you more control and time to sing with conviction. It was all authentic, cleanly performed, and very believable. It was also dark and resonant, yet delicate and beautiful. I have no idea what I'm talking about, but it seems like this is your natural vocal register. You also nailed the keyboard part the entire time. This may be my favorite cover.
You also got me to tear up at the end with those notes and that emotion. Reminded me of some stuff from my past and went right through me.
As for the person who made some comments below, keep doing what you're doing and improving. It's all a process and you've made interstellar leaps. Sure, there are some things to keep getting better at, but you're consistently learning new songs, lyrics, producing, executing, and engaging all of your commenters. Take the constructive from that comment and ignore the offensive stuff. While vocal advice is great, some people are passive aggressive with buttering up their sly ways to try to take away from your success.
My only constructive criticism would be to water your plant.

I used to do covers all the time on YT, but have been skeptical with things like performance rights and how that works with the blockchain.. I guess the same could be said about sharing like a popular youtube video as well.. Just always wondered 🤔
Hey @stealthtrader! Honestly, copyright stuff is something I’m really looking into right now. It’s a little tricky because we are in uncharted territory here. On YT, they can place adds on your video to make some profit from the cover, but that isn’t an option on Dtube. I’d really love to find a lawyer that specializes in both copyright laws and blockchain technology to chat with about it all. (If such a lawyer exists 😊).
I’m curious, did you ever run into copyright issues with your YT covers?
I never did really, but I have removed all of them since then.. I did however get flagged for uploading my own video of Above & Beyond from EDC though.. So idk, but I dj now as well, and won't even DJ live on here from my @steemdj page until I figure this out tho 🤔

Beautiful. I absolutely love this song. I, too, have always been drawn to sad songs. I just love to hear a voice that can really communicate with feeling. There's a difference between a pretty voice and one that conveys emotion. I wrote so many songs during my teens and early 20s, but they were so dark that my own kids haven't heard them yet.
Now here I am singing booger songs and Wheels on the Bus! Lol! You never know where you'll end up with music!

Sad, dark songs really seem to touch the soul in a deeper way. I’d still love to hear some of your originals one day. Although now that your kids are on here... you might have to skip past the songs from your twenties. 😜
Yeah... I don't know why, but anytime me I tried writing happy songs they came out country and I didn't listen to country back then so I didn't really appreciate that. 🤣🤣 I used to have a Myspace acct for my solo stuff. I'll have to dig around and see if it's still there. Are you on Discord? I could direct message you if I find it!
I always think and feel that ladies who play with the piano has a certain elegant and beauty. It is really a great attempt and you can consider making more dtube video instead of ukulele but the piano. It really gives a different level of feel to your music presentation!
