In memory of Chester Bennington lead singer from Linkin Park, R.I.P
I would like to share this sad song in memory of Chester Bennington the Lead Singer from music band Linkin Park, who sadly took his own life after losing his long battle with depression. (March 20, 1976 – July 20, 2017)
He was 41 years old and is survived by his wife and 6 children.
This is a mix made from Kill_mR_DJ mashups on You Tube between Alan Walker and Linkin park, One More Light.
Depression is a serious mental illness and must not be overlooked. Most people go through periods of feeling down but when you are depressed you feel persistently sad for weeks, months or even years.
It’s almost like a dark cloud has appeared above you and follows you where ever you go, and no matter what you do although you may be able to shake it off by keeping busy, if left untreated will most likely always come back and gradually get worse, and sadly in some cases like this one people choose to end their own lives causing more misery for the loved ones that are left behind.
Some of the symptoms can include feelings of unhappiness or hopelessness, to losing interest in the things you used to enjoy. In severe cases you feel like just crawling into a corner and doing nothing for a long period of time. It is better to seek help at the earliest opportunity if you feel you may be suffering from depression as it can lead to suicidal thoughts and left untreated could lead to carrying out these suicidal thoughts.
Anybody can suffer from depression and sometimes for no obvious reason, but it is more common in people who have a family history of the illness. Life changing events such as bereavement, losing your job, relationship breakdown or even having a baby can bring it on.
Treatment for depression can involve a combination of lifestyle changes, talking therapies including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and medication. More exercise, eating a healthy diet, reducing alcohol intake and giving up smoking can all help with depression. Self-help books are also available as it will help you gain a better understanding into depression.
Thank you for this. I am a combat veteran that suffers from PTSD and one of the major components is crippling depression. I’ve battled this for years. I’m lucky to have a strong supports system in place but their are thousands of veterans that suffer in silence with nothing. I personally donate my time to the local VA this not only helps other veterans but it also helps me. I encourage you all to do something like this. It will help you feel better. Please talk to somebody if you feel depressed and if you think someone is going to harm themselves TELL SOMEONE.
No problem and thanks for reading. Its nice of you to help out and provide support to others.
You are a legend and a light in the dark. I really admire you and have followed you. Peace and Love :)
So sad..... Thanks for sharing though @chickenburger
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed the song.
I agree exercise, eating well, minimizing alcohol intake and do away with cigarettes is a better part of the regiment for those who suffer from depression. I had observed people suffering from depression and anxiety that their diets are very poor they tend to like junk instead of nutritious food. They also are in tune to negative frequencies no knowing that negativity robs them of the will to prevail in any situation.
Yes but I think a lot of people do not stick to a healthy lifestyle, including my self sometimes. Its not easy with the fast pace of life.
Thanks for reading.
I battle depression as well, I recently came off of Cymbalta and started an all-natural approach in fighting it.
Good luck with your natural approach, hope everything works out.
Thanks!

Great band...I really loved his voice. Thank you for bringing depression into the light and letting people know what it is all about. It is a crippling condition that needs more understanding from others. Peace and Love. :)
Great stuff!
