Want to become a Muse Witness?
^ This could be you ^
As some of you may know, there is a Muse test network running at the moment. No GUI to test, just the back end blockchain aspect of it. People are already building nodes and announcing themselves as Witnesses.
The foundation of the network
Witnesses are the backbone of Muse. They determine its health, speed and reliability. When problems arise, block producers must be able to react fast. This means they must:
- have programming knowledge and skill
- have a good understanding of the codebase
- be able to communicate and coordinate amongst each other
Muse, like other Graphene based blockchains, was built to be adaptive to different environmental conditions. Not everything is hardcoded; the Witnesses can adjust many parameters. This means being a Witness is not purely a passive occupation where you simply monitor your node but it entails keeping up to date with the evolution of the space in general. Witnesses are to understand the configurations and upgrade proposals based not purely on the technical implications but also on the industry’s (in our case the music world) requirements.
This is also one of the reasons why there’s no Docker yet. The first phase of testing can and should only be done by the uber tech-savvy crypto heads – most likely whom MUSE holders will choose to elect as official Witnesses.
Next week, we’ll be releasing the GUI (connected to the test network) to open the door for the slightly less technical testers to join us. A Docker will come last, once we need the community to start growing at a more rapid pace.
For the above reasons, we highly recommend anyone with a desire to be a Witness to join our test network and develop the expertise required to be a block producer in the soon-to-launch Muse Blockchain.

Then join the testers channel and let the journey begin!
woot so MUSE is back into the business?? thats good news!
We were low on resources but were able to slowly keep going. Getting ready to launch, then scale WAY up!
me being an artist too, i love this project man. I got my testnet up already, looking forward to working with this project
@cob The Slack invite link is no longer active, is there a new link available?
Thanks for sharing man. I am not a technical person but maybe others will be interested
Joined slack earlier today, going to take time to set this up over the weekend and give it a go. Sounds like it'll be a promising project.
Great to hear!
If you scroll up to july 16th you'll find two videos that can assist you in setting up a node and announcing yourself as a witness on the test network.
I highly suggest you read through everything else too since the last 3-4 days have had a lot going on on the testers channel
I've been reading. Lot's of info since June 29 but yeah, watched the vids. We'll see what comes of it and if I fail miserably.
do it
