Do you think, an idea is better written as a book/novel or acted out as a movie? And which do you prefer?
Comparing having an idea written as either a book or as a movie, I’d say that I would go with the movie. The reason I am going for the movie is because movies always creates more impressions in our minds when watching it. When you see a movie, you are able to relate with all the movements of the characters, the speech patterns, you see the colours and the colour blends and all the esthetics regarding the movies. You are able to relate first hand with the feelings and the emotional state and expressions of the characters. You see how they frown, cry or are happy and all the actions. You are in sync with every part of the movie and can take in all the process.
Movies makes for more appreciation and connection and it’s even faster to process unlike reading a novel. In reading a novel, you are left to the use of your imagination to picture what the writter is trying to say or describe. All you can be able to grasp is simple as much as your imagination power can carry you but with a movie it’s not so. If a scene is described in a novel, one may miss some very intricate details but not when it is shown. We attend to appreciate more what we hear and see than just what is left to our imagination hence I will always go with a movie more than a novel .
Also like a said earlier, movies takes lesser time to process that novels. A movie watched in two hours can never be read in a novel in two hours. Novels take longer time to read and sometimes even days and weeks but not the same for a movie unless the movie is a seasonal movie that was adapted from the book. Hence to me, ideas are better acted as a movie than written as a novel.
Watch any movie adapted from a book or novel.

The movie I saw that was adapted from a novel is “A walk to remember”. This movie left a very indelible mark on my mind. I cried a lot seeing it. A walk to remember is a novel that was written by Nicholas Sparks. It’s a romantic drama published in the year 1999 and the book had 240 pages.
The movie was Produced in 2002 and the director is Adam Shankman. It’s a simple movie with a run time of 102 minutes. It’s a very touching drama that featured Landon Carter as the lead male character his real name being Shane West. Jamie Sullivan is the lead female character with her real name being Mandy Moore both were high school students.

Jamie is a daughter of a Baptist minister in the city and Landon was a high profile student who always mingled with a group of boys and girls that always bullied Jamie or mostly ignore her for to her plain way of dressing and her always being alone and her quiet disposition. They would laugh at her and call her names especially Landon’s girl friend whom he later broke up with.
One of those days, Landon was punished for breaking a rule in school because he was notorious and was given the punishment to do a community service after school and this would involve him working with Jamie on the school play. Over time they became close and his closeness with her made him to see her good side which includes her faith in God, how kind hearted she is, her intelligence and also her strengths. He found out that lying below those plain dressing and quiet disposition was a jewel unlike his loud and shallow friends. This made him to fall inlove with Jamie.
Jamie’s classmates laughing at her and bullying her

As their relationship got deeper, he found out that Jamie had Leukamia and was no longer responding to treatment. She had her bucket list of the things she wanted to do before she died. When Landon found out about this. He was heart broken but he didn’t leave her. He stayed with her all through her last days and helped her fulfilled he bucket list which included building a telescope and getting a miracle. She loved the galaxies and watching astra activities.
Finally, during her last days, she got everything she wrote on her bucket list except the miracle. She didn’t recover. She died but not without changing Landon. At her death, he had become a different Person and now seeing life from a deeper perspective. I was so touched by the movie that I cried and cried.
It’s even more painful that the author was inspired to write the novel through her sister’s experience. Her sister was diagnosed with cancer but had a man who loved her despite her health condition and proposed to her. She later passed due to the complications of the cancer. So this is an adaptation from someone’s true life story.
From the movie you have watched above, what can you say about the strength and weakness of the movie compared to the book/novel but if you have not read the book then tell us what captivated you the most in the movie and if you were to write a book on the movie how would that part be written to captivate the reader?
I have not read the novel “A walk to remember”. It was this challenge that got me researching about it more before I found out it was a novel and all the stories behind it as being someone’s real life story. It ended as a tragedy.
Life can be very painful and unpredictable at times .If this was just a novel or something fictional, I would have to give it a happy ending. Knowing that Landon’s love was genuine and he stayed with Jamie even after he knew there was a pending danger of being all alone again after losing the love of his life. I would have given Jamie her miracle. The one miracle she sought after at having a second chance at life. They were all hoping for a miracle, she, her dad the priest and Landon her boyfriend but it never came.
I believe in miracles and I have seen people receive their miracles. That miracle would have caused a whole lot of change in that drama and movie but life happened.
Even though the movie had a tragic ending, it’s a recommendation for us to watch. It protests the need to love people genuinely and purely. You never know what people are going through and a little extra kindness and love could be all they need. Thank you for reading through. Your thoughts and comments are welcomed.
Some here is exceptional, I like your post. You prefer to watch movie than books. You have explained your preference wisely. I haven’t read the book yet but yes familiar with this movie. Best wishes my friend.
Thank you for participating in this challenge of season 25.
Oh wow! A touching story you have shared from the movie adapted from a book/novel.
