What do I think of the new Snow White and the seven dwarfs adaptation "which was actually done by Disney I'm told" is a question I'm getting asked a lot lately.

So I thought it would be easier if I just write a post about it to refer people to it.

However there is something I want to make very clear, I haven't actually watched the movie so take that how you will, this is not my opinion on the actual movie but what I have seen of it from the trailer which I did watch.

I mean it's a classic that most people enjoyed, so I was obviously curious, and yes I enjoyed watching the animated Snow White movie a good few times over.

So compared to the first trailer that I had seen for the "NEW" Snow White live action remake this newer version now available and the one most people will likely see now as actually been polished by a lot.
And it's no wonder because I admit this newer trailer would of likely convinced me more to go and watch it.

But still the first thing that struck me was just how much more interaction Snow White now seems to have with the Evil Queen compared to the old animated version.

It felt a little odd, and speaking of which to be honest just the Evil Queen herself seemed off, the acting wasn't good, however coming from those who have actually watched the film they have told me that "her acting" alone was the only thing that saved the movie from being completely awful.

Moving on to the CGI the animals in particular look weird and out of place in the shots. I really think they could of done a better job, the animals don't look like animals.
I think the problem here is they likely wanted to give them a lot of expression that children could perhaps more easily relate with, but like this giving them more human like features they have "maybe accidentally" turned them into freaks.

For Snow White particularly her classic outfit again something feels off about it, the dress looks like it's made with the cheapest materials founds from the depths of a old forgotten studio, or like it was brought from a cheap costume shop for your kids next Disney princess gathering.

Snow White herself on how much she resembles the iconic animated character I think was mostly a good choice of actress.
However it's very likely they could of found someone better, and in some scenes or maybe it's the angles but she sometimes doesn't resemble the character at all.
This could also be down to perhaps what might of been a lot of cuts made and stitched together.

The actress herself as said some questionable things during interviews, and from some "other rumoured slips" it could very well be enough to put you off from seeing her playing this beloved character in decent light. However she as also said some really positive things, whether that is herself truly speaking her own mind or just part PR or agenda pushing stunts it's something always up for people to debate.

Similar to the Evil Queen there are a lot of political messages that are being pushed out and I would rather they stay out of our entertainment.

When it comes down to the story from those who have watched the movie I have been told it's different from the original. That's sad to hear but it can sometimes be a good thing, however from what I have heard it does seem a little too different even for my liking. And so I'm told to expect a more so called progressive modern take on it with the added wokeness.

Anyway I now want to end this post by quickly explaining my personal "number 1" reason for why I won't be going to pay money to sit at the theatres to watch this movie.

This might make you laugh "but I have seen it mentioned before countless times" so I know it's not just me. But my main reason for not going to watch Snow White is the dwarfs!

Yes they are I think some hideous looking CGI versions of their former-selves, I firmly believe they should of been played by actual real actors, it's what I had originally expected.
I have heard the dwarfs themselves play a smaller part in this movie, and I think that is a real shame and a big wasted opportunity.
