RE: A Star Is Born (2018) - Movie Review
Great review! It seems that the industry is really embracing Lady Gaga in this role, movie goers are a bit more divided. Still after these box office number we will be sure to see her soon again, it's even rumored that Disney is trying to steal her away from WB (I can totally see her in a live action Disney fairy tale movie). This movie never won a major Oscar in all of its incarnation, I think that this time it may get some nominations again, but it only has a change for song award. Still, it will be fun to see Lady Gaga preform at the Oscars. I think Bradley Cooper wants an Oscar for himself as best actor and from what I hear this movie won't land him further than a nomination. I'll wait for it to be available on streaming, I'm saving my money for Venom.
Venom was fun. It’s too bad you don’t have AMC AList. It’s saves us a ton of money. Cooper was solid, but I don’t see this film winning much other than best score. It will get some obligatory nominations from the Hollywood elite. It was honestly better than I expected. But not quite Oscar worthy.
AMC is not the only problem, the hours in which I work is also an issue. I work mostly until 22:00 and it's just too damn late to catch a movie. Also, you need to fall on a good crowed, the kind that doesn't spend all of the movie on their phone or talking. It can make or break a movie going experience, not just the movie.
