The city's grasp, a distant hum
As Chesapeake Bay's tranquility becomes her drum

A tongue cut out, a shock so fine
A catalyst for escape, a mind in decline
A family's past, a present's weight
A murder's cry, a soul's desperate fate

In Baltimore's streets, a familiar stride
But here, the waters flow, and secrets reside
A story woven, of love and strife
A complex web, of life and death's rife

The Last of the Watermen, a tale so bold
A departure from the usual, a story to be told
Of economic struggles, of culture and might
A rural America, where tensions take flight

The plot thickens, like the bay's dark tide
A murder's solution, a detective's pride
But amidst the chaos, a moment's peace

"Raining in Baltimore", a tone that's vain
A disconnect, a scene so out of place

Yet, despite the flaws, the episode stands tall
A testament to Homicide's versatility, after all

In the end, it's not the setting that defines
But the characters, their hearts, their lives intertwined
