Poetic Television Review: Rock Bottom (The Expanse, S1X06, 2016)

In the depths of space, where shadows play,
A world of intrigue, in darkness sways,
The Outer Planets Alliance, a sinister name,
Hides its true nature, and its hidden game.

Miller's eyes, once cold, now burn with fire,
As he's forced to confront, his deepest desire,
To save Julie, and his own soul's might,
From the OPA's grasp, and the darkness of night.

Dawes, a master, of manipulation's art,
Exploits Miller's emotions, and tears him apart,
But Octavia's intervention, saves him from despair,
And sets the stage, for a new path to share.

Holden, a leader, with a heart of gold,
Must navigate the OPA's web, to unfold,
A story of alliances, and power's subtle dance,
Where loyalty's tested, and the stakes are pranced.

Avasarala's pain, a son lost to the void,
Drives her to seek justice, with a determined stride,
While Diogo's struggles, on the Belt's harsh shore,
Reveal the depths, of systemic oppression's score.

In the slow pace, of this episode's stride,
We find the richness, of character's inside,
The OPA's true nature, revealed in all its might,
Challenges our assumptions, and ignites a new light.

Rock Bottom's lessons, of power and of pain,
Echo through the void, like a haunting refrain,
A reminder that in darkness, there's always a spark,
That can ignite a fire, that changes the dark.
