Amidst the silence of the forest,
A tale unfolds of love and loss,
Of cultures clashing, destinies unbound,
The New World, a story told in sound.

Captain John Smith, a man of steel,
Arrives in Virginia, a land to feel,
The Powhatan tribe, with grace and might,
Enters his life, a clash of day and night.

Pocahontas, a princess fair,
Her heart aflutter, her spirit rare,
She saves his life, a love takes flight,
In the shadows of the Jamestown light.

Their love is brief, like autumn's breeze,
Smith departs, leaving Pocahontas to freeze,
She finds solace in the arms of John,
A new life blooms, in England's domain.

Visions of nature, a masterpiece,
By Lubezki's lens, a beauty to appease,
Yet, the narrative falters, a puzzle incomplete,
Malick's voice-overs, a confusion to repeat.

The editing, flawed, a disjointed tale,
Confusing the viewer, with no clear trail,
Despite the flaws, the cast shines bright,
Kilcher's Pocahontas, a radiant light.

Her journey, from wild to tamed,
A story of heartbreak, forever claimed,
Malick's revisionist tale, a message clear,
Of harmony with nature, and the greed that appears.

The New World, a film of contrasts,
Of beauty and confusion, of love and distress,
A story of history, of cultures entwined,
A tale of love, forever left behind.
