#BarberShopTheNextCut Urban Comedy/ Drama

This movie evolves from it's two predecessors and shows growth and progression in the lives of most of the old characters and adds a few new ones to spice up the cast and add even more diversity to the concept of the trilogy.

It's set on the south side of Chicago my home town. It speaks on a very touchy subject concerning the mainstream violence plaguing many communities. Which rings bells with many from neighborhoods in the inner city.

I feel like there was a strong attempt to reach the audience on many levels. There are a few Chicago reference discrepancies and certain implications possibly blaming the mis-titled dred locks and the way children dress as a reason they maybe targeted for death are very unsettling with me. Also not implicating the government & police involvement in conspiracy to frame many young men is a ploy to make black people in general blame themselves.

Overall a good movie for anyone. Very Identifiable for Black People specifically, yet entertaining with a serious Message. It gives the viewer a lot to think about even though it feeds into many of the negative stereotypes. It is definitely worth watching atleast once.

Grade: B
