My opinion about this movie..

On this occasion we are going to comment on Booksmart (2019) or as it is called here in Latin America on the night of the nerds, there are several reasons why I am commenting on this movie today, the first one is because it seems that they remembered that in my country also had movies and just arrived and because there was also a day where I went to twitter and all the celebrities were talking about this movie, people like Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, at a time where everyone was saying stop see Avengers Endgame to see Booksmart, so leaving that in mind let's start with the good ones.

Direction:
This movie is directed by Olivia Wilde actress, which I am sure that several of you have seen in more than one movie, I was simply surprised at how good it is directing, it is not a perfect direction yet, it is still necessary to fix some things, but that we are going to comment later, but in general I really liked the way and style he has to direct, for now he showed me that he is not of this type of directors where he prefers to make everything perfect in an elegant way and all that yes not well She is quite crazy even I would say quite irreverently with some things and especially the decisions she decided to make with this movie, I also liked them a lot, because this is something like a youth comedy.

History:
The story of this movie is basically two friends who are the nerves of the whole school, who now want to go to a party to be able to celebrate their graduation, but it turns out that all that time they spent studying they lost it to enjoy life, then this is going to be the moment where they can do what they want, because everyone is going to do what they want at this party, what would happen if I told you that in this type of movies there are important themes and good performances, because if , the performances are good, they are not outstanding performances, although there are several moments where they allow the actors to show themselves on screen, something that impresses me a lot especially those scenes where they are pure continuous cameras, there are like two or three in this movie and It was something that I liked a lot more taking into account that they do a pretty good job, in treating these teenagers as teenagers that everything is party, alcohol, drugs, women you are, I think everyone has an idea of how they behave and having two things together, they make us have people that we can feel real and we also have good characters or at least characters that we can understand and above all it also has good comedy, obviously as in any other movie the joke is that they definitely don't laugh at all, but most of the time if they are jokes that I would say they are ingenious, they are not jokes of blows, but they are jokes in which one can feel a Both identified and I admit there were times when they did give me a lot of laugh, not that laugh that hit me with laughter where I needed to breathe, but at most I got a smile and you can put the grace.

Characters:
But those who steal the show would obviously be our two protagonists, in this case Amy and Molly would be the two best friends of a lifetime, that is the group of girls who spent most of their time studying to achieve the best grades and enter the best universities, but because of this they did not enjoy their life and parties and what a teenager would normally do, they are characters in which I at least and felt identified, I was one of those people that they invested a lot of their life studying and there were moments where I said go, because I want to spend time having fun and at least I understood them from beginning to end, everything they wanted to do, everything they wanted to achieve the goals they had when they reached the party, because I support them in everything, in addition to their relationship of best friends because if it is well built, there is no need to show you flash backs of moments where they were girls for To be able to understand how strong this relationship is, it is enough that you see the jokes they make or the way they are spoken and you will perfectly understand this type of relationship, but well, what matters most to me here are the issues, that they put in This movie, because as I say this is a youth comedy and you usually know how all this kind of movies, you know that there will be a time where they are going to get high, where they are going to alcohol, where there is going to be a super woman attractive, and that predictable is going to be the movie to the point where you are going to say, go this I have seen it a thousand times, but Booksmart grabs this type of film that you already know and makes a very smart move to put A super important issue, the one that I liked the most, was the one shown at the beginning of the movie.

Topics:
The protagonists assumed that they were superior, in knowledge by comparison all the brutes of their classmates, because everyone was living, everyone was doing other things and the important thing was to enjoy life instead of studying, then as they spent more time in this, then the one that you know, the topics that you have read me all the books, you what!, but I liked it because not all the time is like this they made me quite clear that not because a person is addicted to the bottle, means that he is less intelligent than you, not because a person goes out to party every weekend means that he leaves the studies, not because a person is seen to study little means that he is not going to enter the best universities, and not because a person who drank and know every day is not going to make references to Harry Potter, because everyone sees that world as bad, but the other world in excess is also bad, if you leave a lot for the side of the parties, then you will lose yourself and the same with the part of the studies, if you get too much into the matter you will lose yourself, there is always a balance in all of us all we are able to do everything and we can all achieve whatever, independent in the place where we are and the film made that quite clear and it took me by surprise, that the film is very present because I say it is only presented at the beginning and it is not like that very constant with its themes , but I would say it was that cherry on the cake that made the movie fully enjoyable.

The bad:
Even though everyone says that this movie is mandatory, I also find bad things and I don't find it to be a mandatory movie, he said if you miss this, I don't think there is a problem, unless more ahead he wins an Oscar nomination which I doubt, in short one of the bad things was one that I already said, that there are several jokes in this movie that really do not work, especially the jokes in which you notice that they are trying to make a joke and do not come naturally, also some jokes that are medium stretched and long and there comes a point where everything is complicated and that although the film has interesting themes to play, it only touches them, but it is not constant with them throughout the movie, there are some that are taken at the beginning others in the middle, others in the end, but they only touch each other is like telling you the subject, but they do not show you with the actions of the characters, but the problem more grand e that I have with this movie would be its rhythm, because this movie has a very big rhythm problem, there are moments that feel very fluid, there are moments when they crawl and others that are summarized, many moments that we can enjoy, but there are moments when we summarize them and we cannot enjoy it, for example the end of this movie, without spoilers it feels very rushed, but the beginning of the film on the contrary feels very stretched and the moment we are in the party, because it feels like it cuts a lot like they are in a hurry to try to take all this as quickly as possible because the end is coming, I would have really preferred a thousand times that the party part or the end felt longer and more emotional than stretching all this problem of how the protagonists will arrive at the party on time.

In summary:
I have no doubt that Olivia Wilde is probably a good director in the future, but in this movie it was very noticeable that she still has enough to learn, mostly because of the theme of rhythm, the themes and all that we just mentioned , but well summarizing Booksmart is a nice movie, I do not think it is a mandatory movie, but I definitely recommend it, it is a film that leaves you in a good mood, it teaches you the diversity of people that could really make you laugh, but above all delivery messages and have many interesting topics that are not seen every day in this type of movies, and I think that is what makes it stand out from the pile compared to the other films that have come out this year as I say I do not think it is a masterpiece as everyone was saying, but I do recommend them, if you have the opportunity to see it.

Qualification:
The final qualification for Booksmart or the night of the nerds, is an 8.2 out of 10, but well nothing more to say, I hope you liked it, if you liked it leave me a positive vote, if you did not like it do not insult me hehehe, see you bye.
