War for the Planet of the Apes review.
This third in-stallment does not disappoint by any means. The movie starts straight into the feel of a good war movie as suggested by the title, giving the look of something from a Vietnam style film.
The story continues to follow Caesar's struggle to protect his family of apes from humans, who are sorting to wipeout their existence. With the apes desperate to find a safe place away from human interference, there never seems to be a place to go without having to defend themselves from being killed. We see the frustration and anger build up more than ever in Caesar, as he suffers a more personal loss after his wife and son are killed in an attack. On top of this, he continues to be haunted by Koba and starts thinking that maybe he was right in the way he thought about the humans. His main threat though is the Colonel, played by Woody Harrelson who leads a small army who we find out are fighting more than just the apes.
We see another new character called Bad Ape, played by Steve Zahn. Bad Ape brings a few funny moments to the movie that is sure to make you laugh, but he becomes a valuable member of Caesars small gang helping to save the others.
With an ending sure to sadden anyone who has followed these movies, I'm sure you'll enjoy the it.
