Why Banao, a barangay in Bauko, Mountain Province, will always have a place in my heart is because of the mornings like this that welcomed me during the days of grievance. Farming, made an art, is truly breathtaking for lowlanders like me. In a week of staying, I fell in love with living in the mountains and its people that made my stay warmer than the cold breeze that enveloped the place.

I never regretted stowing away and leaving my responsibilities in Baguio. I was even luckier to experience Bauko's Begnas Festival, a thanksgiving celebration after their season of harvest.
