Well this season is certainly unfolding differently to how most people have figured! Who would've thought that three top seeds would be sidelined with shoulder problems!

Marvin Musquin is usually the most technical and consistent rider on the track (post Ryan Dungey of course). I guess this goes to show that sometimes the biggest pressure you are exposed to is the pressure when you are simply expected to win. He was almost given a green light to complete another clean sweep this weekend with Tomac and Wilson both out with shoulder issues. So now it seems the curse has fallen over the KTM rider as well with a fall whilst running in the top 5 during the heat races where it has surfaced he dislocated his shoulder.

"Five minutes ago, the word from Roger DeCoster was that he was going to give it a go. It was a popped out shoulder, it was dislocated, they put it back, tapped it up with Dr. G and were going to do everything they could to get to this LCQ and then reevaluate. Guys, the word is that when he got on the bike he just did not feel comfortable."

Strangely a day later KTM have issued a very vague statement that simply states he withdrew due to a shoulder injury. Luckily, Musquin himself, has taken to social media and updated us with more info.

"After qualifying third today, I went down hard in the whoops in my heat race. I landed on my left shoulder and felt really beat up. Unfortunately, I was not able to line up for the rest of night. I'm really disappointed about that given the team and I were in a good place after our win last weekend, but I will get checked up as soon as I get home and will know more in the next few days. Supercross is a longer season so I'm hopeful I will be able to line up in Anaheim 2."

This leaves Musquin with just the twenty-six points he gained from his win at Anahiem 1 and puts him then in the standings overall. Hopefully he will be back riding this week and back fully healed for Aniahiem 2 next weekend.
