It’s been a good few years for Spanish sport with Spaniards ranking every bit as well in the MotoGP as they have in the football. Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo have now been joined by Marc Marquez in making up the top three of the 2013 world standings. Only Rossi and Stoner previously seemed capable of breaking the Spanish monopoly, but Stoner is now retired and Rossi is possibly past his best.
The recent Mugello meet saw Lorenzo creep towards the top of the table by defeating his nearest rival, Pedrosa. Pedrosa has fallen strangely short of winning the title in the past, and it may come down to a test of nerve for a rider who may feel like fortune is against him. Many would say that the smart betting money is on Lorenzo to retain the title with generous odds of around 7/5 as opposed to Pedrosa at around 13/10 (favourite with the bookies).
Bizarrely Pedrosa has broken a bone every season for the last six years whilst riding competitively, surely halting his progress. Facts like these also demonstrate that MotoGP is a supremely dangerous sport almost in the manner of boxing with some riders being more being more prone to severe injury.
The impressive Cal Crutchlow is a 150/1 outsider with some generous bookies for the 2013 title after finishing third in Mugello, but special mention goes to Bradley Smith who finished ninth despite a horrific finger injury which needed skin grafts after the race. Crutchlow currently sits in the breakaway group of four riders at the top of the table and a top three finish wouldn’t be out of the question at odds of around even money.
Trading on the popularity of the MotoGP there are now a number of MotoGP themed slots games on the net at respective casino sites such as lucky nuggets with the lines and symbols on the play reels all based on MotoGP. The sub plots and games also carry similar motorbike related themes. Video slots have really opened up an exciting array of opportunities for the traditional slot type machine.
