In the psychology literature, researchers have studied determination under other terms, including challenge and anticipatory enthusiasm; this may explain one reason for the relative lack of research on determination compared to other positive emotions.

Determination is a very important factor in both the success and failure of person's effort. Determination is not an easy task that comes in handy, in order to be determined, one has to be passionate and committed in what he or she is doing. Determination is just like a moving train, it doesn't stop for any reason until it reaches its destination. Humans need to have this mentality of not stopping until something is achieved. There'll definitely be obstacles and roadblocks, but how we react to these obstacles will determine how far we'll go on the road to success.

Life itself is in phases. Everything in life is taken from one step to another, it doesn't just happen overnight.
