WAYS WE CAN IMPROVE OUR STEEMIT BLOGS AND ADD VALUE TO STEEM

in #motivation6 years ago (edited)

The dlive nomad @nathanmars have said a lot of good things concerning adding value to steem and he even made a rule that only people with 100SP and above are permitted to drop a comment on his daily posts. To people who have less than 100SP this may not be cool but I can tell you that having 100SP and above is a good evidence that you are adding value to steem. So if you are aware of that rule from the dlive nomad @nathanmars and you don't have up to 100SP then you should accept the good challenge to add more value to earn over a 100SP.

There are many ways you can add value to anything and I'm gonna list some of them, below, any one of these ideas or concepts can be sufficient for you and when you begin to combine these ideas together, you’ll continue to move ahead more rapidly in your steemit life than you ever have been before.

MAKING A QUALITY/ORIGINAL POSTS

Not everybody is good at expressing themselves through writing, but then there should be a way that you can always express yourself. If you are not good in writing then you should use the Vlogs made available by @dtube and @dlive which have their own respective uses and you can still make quality posts on steemit through these platforms.
Making quality posts and vlogs are really gonna take your time and you will get used to it, but yet nothing good comes too easy, you have to give something for something, whether it is your time, your talent, you skill or even your money but you must at least give something to get something. Sometimes the reward for doing this may not be as expected, it may be too low or you could be lucky and it may be higher, but you should know that "nothing goes for nothing".

You may not be earning as expected when you make quality posts but you've actually added value to yourself too because you learnt a new thing.

Try to always make your post completely original. If you copied the information from somewhere, the quote it. If you got and image from some where without editing it, then put a reference link to the image, else it might be considered plagiarism or infringement on intellectual property.

To make quality post you really need to do a good research on whatever you are gonna publish and that is where you give it your time, but yet do not forget that time is money.

LEARN HOW TO MAKE WHAT YOU PUBLISH MORE PRESENTABLE

Always learn good things from others and develop them!
If you are a good writer then using good markdowns to create your post gives your post a good representation and it helps to perfect whatever you publish, that is what encourages anybody to keep reading your posts. Find tutorials on how to use these markdowns too.
Try to always use images or videos where necessary because this is what gives a pictorial communication to readers about whatever you have in mind.

If you are a Vlogger, you should also be a good speaker too because if you are not laudable, no one will watch your videos for a long time or would even like to watch it the next time. Although we are all prone to flaws but then always try to perfect whatever language you use to make your Vlogs and blog posts

BEING CONSISTENT AND HARDWORKING

Remember that the great men made it when their companions were asleep

You know quite well that practice makes perfect and you are consistent in doing the right thing then surely the right reward will come your way.
If you have friends that have good steempowers to upvote you, that should'nt make you relent your effort from working harder to make quality post. That your friend must have worked very hard to get his own steem power so why not work hard to get yours too. Yes a good friend should be able to upvote you from time to time but yet will their upvote give you what desire to get? You shouldn't stop working hard because hard work pays!

USING THE CORRECT TAGS AND TOPICS

images (5).jpeg

When you make a post. If you do not hit the decline button it mean you actually want some reward from your post and using the right tags in what ever you publish can give you a boost/chance in getting your article or vlogs upvoted from readers of that topic with steempower. You cannot use a science tag on an article which is about movies that may not get you the upvotes you desired.

HAVE A PLAN AND SCHEDULE FOR YOUR POST

images (4).jpeg

Always have a good plan
Make good research on whatever you really want to be posting, it should be what you are good at or it can be what you can give good information about. Plan the number of post you want to make in a day or in a week or in a month. That could aid you to improve.

BE DISCIPLINED AND DO NOT GIVE UP

If you look at steemit beyond a place to make money then you can always make the money. Look it steemit at another angle and let your mindset be at a better dimension. See steemit as a tool for improving yourself. Trust me, when you keep making quality post good readers will find you and may decide to go through your old posts and if they find it valuable that could open ways for you to always get an upvote from them because they know already that your quality post is adding value to the steem blockchain and they(readers with steem power) may not hesitate to reward you with an upvote on future/current posts, except otherwise.

MUTUAL BENEFITS

Helping your friends out is a good way and that is why you should make good friends on steemit. Steemit gives us a chance to make suvh freinds, friends that can help you and friends that you can learn good things from and if you always give them an upvote no matter how little your upvote is or support them with your comments that can get you a reward as a return from a good friend for your support.

INVESTING

This option may not be suitable to everyone but it should be encouraged. Yeah some people are not financially endowed to invest but yes even the ones who has invested to add value to the blockchain are also here for the money just like anyone else and they have also contributed in building the platform by adding value.
Invest in your steempower by buying more steem to power up no matter how little it might be, because it is one way to contribute in adding value.
We have over a million account on steemit today but I'm very sure that it is a lower percentage of these accounts that has steempower worth over 100steem.
Think about a situation whereby a greater percentage has over 1,000sp; for sure a good value will be added to steem but then if you are not ready to invest then you should be ready to add value in others ways that can get you a good reward.

PROMOTING STEEM

images (1).png

Yes promoting steem can add value to steem.
Adding more value cannot only be achieved by investing but could be acheived by the numbers in of steemians in participation and this will create a demand for steem. We hope that SMTs brings on something cool

The communityof which I belong called @steemjet is a community of friends who uses their talents and skills to promote steem and to add value. We have got steempower funded by @dimimp who usually call us superstars becaude he believe in our ability to promote steem and add value.
Most of the steemjetter promote steem using their skills and some of them uses their talents to sing about steem, some do write, some act, some advertise, some create arts or photography, some design, some manage and lead etc.
We are trying our best to do what we can and not what is beyond our abilities. I heard that our delegated steempowers are now permanent as a reward for offering to promote steem in our own way. Thanks to the human behind @dimimp

In conclusion, This may not be all the factors concerning the tittle of my post, if you have one you can drop it on the comment for the readers. It MAY be upvoted for visibilty but not withstanding, these ones I have been able to explain above should also be considered. If you have a good related question you can ask.
Thank you!

although i agree on the generic thing about how to improve your steemit profile i have some disagreements. Let me be more clear as you what i mean:

1)the mentality to not respond to comments below a certain sp amount is completely bullshit and wrong. I can agree when the user just make useless comments like ''good post'' and stuff like that and i am with him even if he flags them but just in any person below 100sp is wrong.

The reason that is wrong is because we are starting with a wrong mentality that youtube has. That we see ourselves as powerful and stronger than the others basically based on money. Just because we have more sp than others doesn't mean they don't worth. We want steemit to be something different something can help people achieve their dreams not another facebook-youtube kind of thing.

2)Being over a year in steemit the problem lies in 2 things. the first one is called human greed that leads people to do stupid things just to earn easy money like stupid comments, bid-bods use etc etc and less interaction. I will stay a bit at interaction which is the key for someone to succeed and stay in steemit. More and more people don't actual care to read the posts that a user makes let alone older posts. So even if we are talking about a very quality post if there is no interaction and upvotes how the user will stay?

Your comment is devastating and contains some honest truth anyway but the fact that @nathanmars restricted steemians below 100SP to comment on his post is what I saw only as a challenge. I know a lot won't agree with him but I see it as a challenge to make steemains work harder. Maybe he will change it as time goes on but we have to know that everything has an advantage and a disadvantage. If these guys with SP take it as a challenge to work harder, definately it help to add more value.

and if the new people just see that then i don't believe they will stick for a long time. Also some members that have more than 100sp may remember the time they had less and that they could speak and comment to whoever they wanted and ofc get a reply back. That gave them motivation i think. I can see @nathanmars point though, at the end of the day it's his profile and can do whatever he wants, that's freedom!

Also thanks a lot for taking the time to reply back!

you gave me an idea for a post with this 100sp thing :P

1)the mentality to not respond to comments below a certain sp amount is completely bullshit and wrong. I can agree when the user just make useless comments like ''good post'' and stuff like that and i am with him even if he flags them but just in any person below 100sp is wrong.

You see, this system is a very advanced technical ecosystem that accommodates so many types of parameters that are different from the known conventional platforms. As much as you will like to know that there are over a million users on steemit, however, these accounts are split into categories of real users, alt accounts, bots, spam accounts.

One way to identify yourself as human on the platform is having steem power, and yes this is life investment, it will take time to build from scratch, to differentiate yourself. Its not going to come easy, would you really want it to come so easy though? Think again. Someone sold his house to buy steem power, hasnt that distinguished him from a bot or a spammer? Hasnt that shown his contribution of value to the growth of the system? This steem we all claim needs value to rise, why dont you, why dont we all,....maybe a lot of people dont approach new users in the best manner, forgive them we all want the same thing but different methods.

We a might not be able to sell our houses, but we can show our ounce of commitment in continuos rendering of value and trust me, you will realise steemit.

So even if we are talking about a very quality post if there is no interaction and upvotes how the user will stay?

Come for the money, stay for the passion.

If the user then prefers to receive likes in other sites than potential upvotes in steem, then its really up to the user.

I also agree with you
Thanks a lot man, for your great reply. I appreciate it.

so in other words accounts with over 100sp are real users? and the more you have the more evidence?

That's extremely relevant i'l explain why but ofc it's my personal opinion so i may be wrong and before everything i want to thank you for that big fat comment, i extremely like those!

I won't start with the best example i ll give you that can trick us. Let's say i am a person with over 5k sp and i just create another account in which i either delegate a lot of steem power or just fully upvote everything. The posts that i do with these accounts are from just memes to just copy/paste youtube links. Thus in a very sort amount of time i will be over 100sp without actually doing anything and just trick everyone. All this can be easily done with automation apps. So now that i quickly have over 100spi am qualified as a person and a quality one?

Now the second example is that let's say a new user joins, that knows nothing about steemit. Chances are that even if he creates quality posts that he take a long amount of time to obtain over 100sp. Even more people share the mentality of the 100sp thing that person is from the start ''banned'' from others and not just because he did something wrong but just because he isn't that powerful in a crypto online social media.

All of this things i said are real examples i have seen in steemit and i can easily prove them with names if you want. Let me give you another example of how hard it is to obtain 100sp

I had a close friend that i brought on steemit. He was about 5-6 months active and had made more than 100 posts. Also he had some support from the community of my country. Aside of that he upvoted too and made way too many comments. 5-6 months after and he has 27,3 sp. Imagine how long he has to post till he make 100sp. (ofc if no whale give him a 50$ upvote)

People come for the money as you say and stay for the passion But passion isn't just writing on my diary but instead making my posts and people actually check them, read them and make comments that will give them the motivation to write more and more and being active.

Also imagine how motivated will be the fact that a person with 20-30-50sp comment on a post of person with over 5-10sp and receive an upvote for his comment of 20cent -1$ an amount of money even more than his posts. How happy and motivated will feel? and how closer to the community of steemit will come?

update

I checked @nathanmars post and not only did he ask 100+ sp but a vlog post so it counters the argument of bot accounts (except if the comment is generic)

I understand your claims, but I can also tell you that there are hundreds of community out there helping new users find their feet, @steemjet is one of them, there are contests held where people earn by participating, and contributing their quota, there are writing contests, free giveaways, but these are not even the main points, the main points are the opportunities it opens up for us to engage and connect with other people, the exposure, and like sp, that has to be worked for too, except you already have a lot of friends with much sp.

We can find as much examples as to why something is not working and at the same time, there are other examples that prove otherwise.

For me, if this however was the case, then there must be something I'm probably not doing right.

Thank you for raising this discussion and sharing your struggles, trust me you are speaking the mind of hundreds of people. I dont have an sp to give 1$ but what I can I will, however, if all youre trying is not giving you the result you desire, why not try something else. I just followed you and I hope to see you do so much better than now. Nice to meet you. See you on top!

i followed you too cause i like interacting with others and see comments like that. It's not i have a personal problem, my sp is 1700 so i am over 100 :P I just see the full potentials of this platform and want others to see it too.

I agree that there are many contests and communities out there for the newbies but it's not so easy to find them especially with the interface that we have now and the amount of accounts out there. All i hope is people to interact each other in this platform and enjoy their time in Steemit.

Awesome.

All i hope is people to interact each other in this platform and enjoy their time in Steemit.

This was the intention from the inception but mankind will be mankind, but I believe that we can all work together individually and as a team to achieve this, thank you again for this conversation. Taking a trip to your blog....just incase you are a highly sophisticated advanced model bot...jo...o..ook.iiiiiing :D

haha i am the advanced AI from the future :P

This is so educative. This just reminded of some great truth I've left behind. I have stopped writing on my niche because of one or two things. But this is like a wake up call for me. I'm going back to it now. Thanks very much @empato365

You are the best of your kind and you can surely do better. I wish you good luck steeming

You can also try to do what i call niche cross diversification. A form of niche that cuts across relative niches, it helps to expand your target audience and opens you to more visibility. Also it helps to build your flexibility. Remember, if steemit goes today, you need to have developed yourself enough to stand alone to do the passion you claim to have on steemit, this should be the keynote, development of oneself in contribution of value, just as @empato365 has said. Glad steemit is not going anywhere, now lets go on to that writing my man!

Wow. This words are really something else. So profound. Thank you.

There are many blogs that attempt to teach bloggers how to generate long-term value. Most bloggers start out hoping to "get rich quick" and then flame out when they realize how difficult it is to monetize their efforts. Successful bloggers, on the other hand, take a slow and steady approach over many years.

Taking short cuts may always lead to the wrong cut

Honestly steemit is not funds without steempower or without mutual freinds with steempower.

Not fun or funds. I'll take fun

You have to see steemit beyond the steempower, it is a self improvement tool to add value

Then go out there and make the friends, thats what the social part is about, yeah I get that you dont have steempower, but what other value can you add to the platform, its more like you add value, you receive value. Someone with a heavy wallet will most likely not walk up to you and say hi without a purpose, even when it does happen, how will you like to share yourself? In talents? Passion ?experience? Soaked in quality and originality? How about the value? These are main things, even without steem power

Well thank you!
I agree with you anyway.

It is good that you are ready to learn

I'm glad you do, lets build ourselves , see you on top

You're right and i've noticed that too, whenever am posting on steemit, with time i've noticed am adding value to my myself, the more i add to steemit, the more i add to myself. I've horned my writing skill to a very good point with steemit.

And this is very good thing.
Keep it up the best will come

Very cool and impressive write up

Thank you

The Dlive nomad adds value each day with his dtube and dlive contents and well individualy steemians must learn how to add values in their own way, having a unique blog inventings one's own markdowns styles and selling their blogs very presentably to their followers.

Very beautiful very rich and informative

First paragraph: Yeah!

Second Paragraph : Thank you

Thank you for educating....😀😀

Not done reading yet but this got me

You may not be earning as expected when you make quality posts but you've actually added value to yourself too because you learnt a new thing.

I confirm it to be the honest truth

And you are right about it

This is power packed. I didn't expect less.

Value creation is an area a whole lot of people don't give attention to. But I honestly would inculcate some of these.

I think many people need to see this

RESTEEMED

Yeah I agree with you.

Thanks for the resteem!

You just wrote exactly what's happening here on steemit.. Thanks for sharing this @empato365

Yeah.
Create more quality to add value. I wish you goodluck
