Modric contacted Inter
While Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez had denounced Inter's methods in the transfer market, Luka Modric admitted to having contacted Inter himself.
According to the Gazzeta dello Sport, the Croatian midfielder would have approached the Italian club this summer to express his wish to evolve this season with some of his compatriots. Real complained to FIFA by invoking Article 18 of the transfer regulations, stipulating that a buying club must go through the agreement of the home club to contact a player. Modric would have responded to FIFA, saying that it was him and not Inter who had contacted the other party, thus undermining the version of Florentino Perez.
