Has anyone else noticed the strange moon lately?

In my life the moon has always behaved like a drunk sailor. It’ll be high in the sky at midday or off it’s orbit completely, but lately it seems to have a mind off it’s own. Last Friday the moon I saw was only a crescent and yet a lot of the photos and videos I have seen of the SpaceX launch have full moons. According to my lunar phase app, the moon should have been 14% full as it was in its waxing crescent phase. I’m just wondering if anyone else has noticed any peculiarities.
