If you need money for any reason, Canada wants to give it to you. The housing bubble in Canada will continue because of efforts by the Bank of Canada to keep interest rates low.
Individuals have been using their homes as bank accounts, pulling out the equity in hopes that the bubble will continue forever. Big mistake.

“HSBC Canada is offering five-year fixed-term mortgages at 2.39 per cent, undercutting the lowest discretionary rates at the largest domestic lenders including Toronto-Dominion Bank and Royal Bank of Canada.”

Canada is simply falling into the same traps as the U.S. did. Look at the 1.5% down payment on mortgages right now. It’s free money.
Subprime mortgages were the linchpin of the previous crash. None of the issues have been resolved and you can see this with mortgage rates around all-time lows.
