I'm not at all hopeful that the Trump phenomena will noticeably get people to question the idea of a democracy, though. Democracy, just like the government in general, has been so successfully marketed to people that they so strongly believe in the concept that whenever it fails to deliver, it's never seen as a flaw in the concept, it's always something external that is keeping it from functioning properly. It just needs some fine tuning and, man, we're off to the races and utopia can finally be achieved. Rinse and repeat.
