1901 Victoria Empress Coin (Indian currency)

in #money7 years ago (edited)

I have always been obsessed with vintage items. And today I found this in my house :) It's a One Quarter Anna Victoria Empress copper coin dated 1901. Taking it in the hand feels like going back in time. It's awesome! Does anybody know the value of this in the current market?

For those who can read Hindi, this is an interesting breakdown of rupee-

Sort:

That is over a hundred years old but the condition is not so nice,

In good condition this coin is valued at Rs.20.

The only exciting thing about this coin is that it is more than 100 years old, apart, there is not much of a rareness to it.

Try finding East Indian company coins, those are the ones which have some amazing value.

That's a bummer. Nevertheless it's quite cool haha. Thanks for the tip about East Indian Company coins.

If you have any other coin, let me know, I have done extensive research on Indian coins and notes and I enjoy learning about them.

A tip: If possible try to invest in silver coins of pre 1900 year, silver is cheaper now and once the market picks up, and demand for antiques go high and so will silver, so these coins shall be 5x than current value. The ones with Queen Victoria are the ones you should look out for.

Peace !!!
