Ripple (XRP) partners American Express, Satnander to execute cross-border blockchain payments

Finally, long-awaited change comes to the finance industry.

So, all payments to Amex's business customers will now be routed via Ripple's enterprise blockchain network.
This project will allow people from the US to execute instant transactions with the Santander banks accounts in the UK.

"This collaboration with Ripple and Santander represents the next step forward on our blockchain journey, evolving the way we move money around the world," said Marc Gordon, VP of Ripple.

XRP is now trading at 0.248 USD, 17% higher than a day ago.

What does it mean for Ripple investors?

• market cap of a company like Visa is ca. 250 billion dollars, 25 times higher than that of Ripple.
