Monetize Yourself + Share + Learn + Steemit
Steemit Social Media Site Allows It's Users and Content Creators to Generate Income Through Participation, Posts and Votes
Excellent! Steemit has developed a solution to the problem of social media sites turning their users into products and then selling the data generated by those (users) products to advertisers. Content creators, friend connectors, sharers and social site participants can now migrate to the Steemit platform for collaborating, sharing and learning from each other without the ads that other social media platforms force on their users. Steemit users will also have the chance to make money from their involvement and contributions on the platform. Brilliant! Nothing better than the possibility of individuals getting financially compensated for all the time they spend sharing, posting and being involved.
Imagine if you got paid for all the time you spent on social media platforms.
What would you do with all the money?
Would you travel more? Start your own business?
Or just be able to provide for yourself and family more?
This is revolutionary!
Steem makes sense as a way for people to potentially generate basic income. An income they can then transfer into actual dollars. Those dollars can then be spent on food, clothing or shelter. This is the future. What do you think?
@ modjoules or do I call you OP? Generating basic income is a huge goal, but do you think the distribution of rewards will be that evenly distributed? Comparing to reddit.. less downvotes, just no votes. I think it´s likely that since this will be a place to build your brand more as a poster, we will see more star-writers/posters that has a huge fanbase as Steemit grows, that will vote on everything they post. This also means it will be much harder to do this and expect a payout as the site grows, theres is only so much space on the 'frontpage' and the next few pages where most people see it, right?
I suppose that the frontpage space might be an issue for payouts or income distribution. This might limit the rewards to go mostly to the "hit" posts. But if there are future iterations on this concept of income based social networks where participating actualizes tangible value (in dollars) for the participants, it seems a better solution than ad revenue that only goes to a given platform operator. Also, Steemit may administrate other reward incentives for Steamians in the future that we may not know about yet.
This is so cool! I love this! I'm excited to start using this everyday! Just need to learn how to navigate this site :)
