We Separated The Church & State, Now It's Time To Separate MoneysteemCreated with Sketch.

Hey JessFreedom Fighters

Their once was a time where religion and the state were one and the same. Still, as countries become multicultural, this became impractical and imposed on peoples freedoms to believe what they want and accept certain ideas. Separating religion from the state has proven to provide a great deal of good for peoples freedoms in speech and taking personal responsibility to define their belief systems.

There are many countries where the government is still affiliated with a religion, and those countries are seen as having fewer freedoms than those who have separated these two institutions. The freedom of expression and belief does come with clashes, but it also bred a more multicultural world that has improved our lives with ideas coming from various frames of mind and pushes the world forward.

So why would separating the money from the state not provide us with even more freedom?

More separation, more freedom

Today, one can argue that a separation of money and state might be, if not more important than freedom of religion. Money is as fundamental to our lives as religion because it affects almost every aspect of your life. The choices that you make about your finances impact your life and those around you, so to have money controlled by a central entity is comical.

The idea of free markets is still somewhat popular in the United States, but this logic never seems to apply to money, money is still absolute, and governments have a monopoly on it. A dangerous monopoly at that. When we have a central authority with the power to manage and dictate how it should be used or where it should go, we have few people making the decisions for all people.

Due to humans self-interest, those decisions are mostly made with the benefit of those making the decisions, and we clearly cannot rely on altruism when it comes to money management and distribution.

Money needs real competition to be a free market

Fiat is forced on us by our place of birth and most people don't have the privilege to change their location so they inherit the state of the medium of exchange of that country and all the problems that come along with it. Cryptocurrency is by choice, you pick the currency you like and how you want to store your purchasing power, no one's forcing you.

Cryptocurrency is the private market's answer to counterbalance value exchange and if people feel they are not getting a good deal due to inflation, taxes and misuse of purchasing power by governments or those at the top they should have the ability to opt-out.

Private money keeps governments honest and a mandate to do better, which they do not. They offering us a sub-par product and they are the only game in town, until now.

It's going to be seen as a no brainer in the future

Is it absurd to allow competition in money just as we allow competition in religion? The more choice gives people the chance to find faith and ideologies they agree with and people they want to associate with and contribute to that community.

We allow multiple churches, subsets of religions and faiths to exist. Can't we do that with money?

I feel like one future generation will look back and realise how obvious the shift was and wonder why it took us all so long to realise the change needs to be made.

But when?
Will it take 5 or 50 years.
I guess at least 15 years. At least in north europe

Yes more developed countries or ones seen as sound economies will have more control as people have more faith in it but say where I am from we don't give two fucks, we'd take crypto over our own money any day and I think thats where it will start. The europeans and such would probably be the last to change or allow competition against their money.

Lol someones clearly excited by the thought of private money :P

To be honest I don't believe this will happen.

Why would it? It means giving up power and who is willing to do that? It can only happen through market forces if enough people want it. It won't be pretty, lives will be lost in the process but thats the price of freedom. We saw it play out in our country for civil rights, it will play out across the world for economic rights eventually

Basic premise is off. There is still almost no separation of religion and state whatever anyone says.

Yes their are varied degrees of involvement of religion in different countries! Some are more some are less! Yes personal belief sets are also carried into government thats unavoidable

But what I’m referring to is more the authoritarian religious movements

I understand that but I'd still disagree, Religion is intrinsically woven into the fabric of all societies from top to bottom. It's more than personal belief , but even if it were 'just' personal belief, in a position of power this becomes the basis on which one would base decisions.

You are absolutely correct. In fact I wrote something similar just this morning.

It will happen quicker than people think since it is all part of a larger trend. Watch for advancements in mesh networks and other efforts to decentralize the Internet.

This is all going to play into what happens with money. The open source movement is also getting stronger.

I also think that theirs so much going on in tech that we do know but what about the things being worked on in the quiet that we don't know? I'm sure that this industry hasn't grown to what it is now and has people fanatical about it for no reason. I don't blame people for sticking to what they know and lacking foresight and imagination.

Like Nelson Mandela said, its only impossible until its done.

Its going to take more people who the world sees as delusional to get us there lol and the army grows by more than 1 each day
