A Couple of Great Weekends for Me ~ I'm Thankful
This is a little overdue (no pun intended as you will see), but I wanted to tell you about my weekend before last weekend! And while I'm at it, let me mention the weekend before as well.
So, let's see... three weeks ago, I had my first ever soap vending opportunity! It was a lot of work getting ready for it, and then it was a lot of work packing the car, setting up, and at last taking it down and driving home. And the funny thing is, I didn't sell a lot. Yeah, I know, that's not funny at all. I guess I used the wrong word. But really, it didn't bother me that the sales were light. You see, the whole experience was a great way to "practice" being a vendor, get the nervousness out, AND get my company name out there!

In fact, a week or so ago, I got an email from a lady who was at the event. She had gotten a soap sample from me, and liked it so much that she regretted not buying something at the event! Let me just say that you never know what seeds you planted as you move forward in your business, and you should come away from even a event that seemed uneventful with hope that you planted a seed.
That was one big event behind me, and as I looked forward to the next weekend, I was so happy that I would be renting a car and driving to the next state over to visit relatives and attend my sister's baby shower! She will be giving birth to my mom's 19th grandchild! (The grandchildren belong to my dad too, but he died young and never met any of them).
It was a wonderful baby shower in the upstairs of a Bed and Breakfast cafe-type place. My dad's mother (my grandmother) and his aunt are still with us, and they were there. Also, my aunts, cousins, and some friends were there. It was a memorable and lovely time.
Visiting family was one kind of wonderful, celebrating my sister and brother-in-law's joy was another, and riding in the car alone to rest my mind was yet another! It was fantastic! We all need a break sometimes. Rest time helps to rejuvenate us, and to do our work better once we get back to work. In these times, we can get new or renewed perspective, and we can also be inspired. In fact, I can home ready to paint my son's room!
