Jim Thome - MLB Hall of Famer

in #mlb7 years ago (edited)

One of my favorite baseball players ever, Jim Thome, has been been inducted into Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame. With the Tribe, he was a .287 career hitter with a franchise record 337 home runs and 937 RBIs. Hit 52 home runs for the Tribe in 2002. Finished his career with 612 home runs as one of the greatest left handed sluggers in baseball history. A 5x All-Star and Silver Slugger in 1996. Two World Series appearances for the Indians in 1995 and 1997. Widely regarded as one of the top left handed sluggers in the history of the sport.

- 8th all time in Home Runs
- 23rd all time in SLG%
- 26th all time in RBIs

Best power hitter in Cleveland Indians history. Congrats Jimmy.

Time to retire that #25.

Happy to see him go in as an Indians fan myself. He was mostly before my time but I remember when he came back for a season a few years back. Props to Jim Thome.

Yeah, he was mostly before my time as well. I super vaguely remember those 2001-2002 teams that were kind of the last remnants of the powerhouses from the 90s. Best memory I have of him is when he came back in 2011? and hit a home run on his 41st birthday. Fun times. Thanks for reading/commenting!
