You do know that there's 100 people on steemit now that can do the same and use MB to upvote their content to $200+ ? The MB whitelist I helped review.

Call it a "scammy path", but I don't know of any other way to balance out what is happening on steemit with the majority of power being in the hands of very few who care more about profit than content quality on the platform.

I don't know of any other way to balance out what is happening on steemit with the majority of power being in the hands of very few who care more about profit than content quality on the platform.

The @minnowbooster account has nearly 3 million SP (125K held and 2.842 million delegated to them). And last time I checked, they haven't had any positive impact on "content quality." In fact, plenty of shitposters and spammers have used their services and still do.

So, Minnowbooster is one of the few accounts that you've mentioned with the "majority of power" and they are in fact one of the "services" that seems to be more interested in profits than "content quality on the platform."

How exactly can Minnowbooster "balance out what is happening on Steemit" when Minnowbooster is one of the problems throwing that balance off in the first place...all for the sake of profit for Ricardo and a few of his new buddies? Please tell me how "minnows" have been "boosted" by this vote-buying and delegation-leasing craze? Nearly every report I've seen about these services shows that there is very little benefit, if any at all, to purchasing them. As a whole, it certainly doesn't appear to be beneficial for the platform, as human interaction has apparently tanked in favor of multiple upvote services and multiple comment spam-bots cluttering the posts of the people who use them.

But please do carry on about "balancing things out" by doing more of the same. I'm sure more new users might buy it...then become disenchanted and leave, never to return.

In fact, plenty of shitposters and spammers have used their services and still do.
There's an anti-abuse policy, so this should not happen.

As for the benefit from the service - how else can minnows get attention to their posts in trending and hot without paying for them to have high enough of a payout? I agree that MB and the likes (there's no shortage) are not a perfect solution, but I have yet to come across a better one.

What alternative do you propose?

And again - thank you for the grownup reply. <3

I do appreciate your explanation (much nicer than just calling me names).

Think the same.... wrote in minnowbooster post today:

If you must use screenshots, please at least include a link to the quote you wish to bring to our attention. Some of us might like to actually read what was said without going through all sorts of contortions. Then there's the issue of links. Try clicking on the links in your grab, see how far you get. I didn't.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Right click on images.... view image... it's not that hard..

This is the link of my answer:

Link on image didn't work... because it's a screenshot... It seems obvious to me..

You are right, it's not hard, but it is unnecessary. It would have been easy for you to have included the link to your answer in the first place, assuming you'd like people to read it.

"Link on image didn't work... because it's a screenshot..." Really? I'd never have guessed.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Sheesh, no need to descend to name-calling and threats. I am not here to attack or defend. I am here to try and understand how to make the platform better given what we have right now, and share ideas on that. I was hoping to receive a serious reply, explaining (or linking to an explanation) to why you think minnowbooster and the likes are scams. But if you're incapable of having an adult discussion, then, well, I've nothing to do here and I'll just unfollow you and we shall part in a civilized manner.

I am new to Steemit, would you be so kind to explain what is happening?

I am new and I just want to do the right thing for the community and make it work.

@allintoone---Hell yea! That would be so fantastic. Make America Great Again. lol

Do you think your comment actually worths $4.22 I dont think so @berniesanders ...

It is easy to blame others but it's hard to look at ourself I know after reading this you may target me and flag me and try to find any stupid reason to prove that I make shit posts and that I don't deserve and so on .

Now this thing may hurt your ego but I'm going to speak my mind and what I've seen is that you had your own voting bot known as @randowhale and @randowhale1 now your business model is/was more of a gamble, honestly speaking when I was a newbie I used to borrow 2 SBD from my friends to get an upvote from you and I knew that this is going to be a gamble as I would either get more than what I paid for or less than it.

Now here comes @minnowbooster which always gives profit and if by chance it doesn't we return the extra SBD so it is a win win situation for the steemians.

Now coming to the point of having voting bots, you have been here for a very long time have seen a lot of things on steemit atleast way more than me , infact I would say that for me you're my senior here ( You may or may not agree but this is my thought) so you know how steemit works , here if you're post value is not high you don't get the visibility, you're post becomes a dust and gets hidden in the pile of many posts. Therefore you introduced @randowhale a voting bot which will help the minnows to get the visibility that they needed. and so we @minnowbooster not only launched a voting bot but also made a marketplace for Steem Power which @ned had discussed during a hangout in steemspeak.

You're an individual and so we are , you're free to speak your mind and so we are, you can upvote your post so we can , you upvote your comments but we don't do that @berniesanders

Your motive for saving the reward pool is exceptional but the way you do it is very bad.

I'm not calling you a terrorist or a criminal in my next thought but I can't find a better way to explain it to you , a thief steals food from a shop and runs away, why did he do it ? Answer: He was HUNGRY , Starving etc now if the same thief had done some work/job and had earned the money he still could get food by purchasing it.

Having good intentions doesn't mean that your actions are also good and having bad intentions doesn't mean that your will also be bad.

A man known by his actions and not by his thoughts.

Now coming to me I honestly was an unintentional plagiarist in the past who according to you have raped the reward a little but I make sure to learn from my mistakes and I do.

As for the flag war with @minnowbooster and their users I would only say one thing and it is that steem/steemit is a decentralized platform doing such actions make it a centralised platform which only spoils the reputation of it which further reduces the no. of users on steemit and then further reduces the value of steem in the market which results in the less value of the reward pool which is the real rapping.

Fine. You win. Tonight I will dump $100 SBD on a post titled: "Why I will no longer post on steemit and neither should you". Enjoy downvoting that with your bot army.

People like you are the reason artists and authors are leaving the platform, and scammers and spammers stay.

I hope you enjoy your self-upvotes and crowd of purchased followers as you watch the platform die and turn into a steem generating engine for the likes of you and nothing more. It's what you want, so it's what you invest in. So it's what you and the rest will get.

Me, I have a life, a job (that pays better than steemit ever could) and no time for your stupid wars.

I am not the kind to say such things, but you've managed to make me lose my cool. The best thing you, mr @berniesanders , can do for steemit and its community is die in an oil fire.

@berniesanders has motivated me to do a lot more around here. I wouldn't say he is the reason people are leaving. Maybe just the people that are doing the stuff he is bringing up are the ones having the issue with him?

People on SteemIt are overly cordial because they are actually trying to get a vote or something. To me, that level of behavior is low, pathetic, and a complete lie. It is much more useful and beneficial to a system to have users be open, honest, and not painting a pretty picture with lies.

More and more as time goes on the collective emotions of the world are becoming increasingly sensitive. Steem is a platform where, like you said, people have their opinions and are free to express them. Downvotes are a way of expressing ones opinion.

I am not the kind to say such things, but you've managed to make me lose my cool. The best thing you, mr @berniesanders , can do for steemit and its community is die in an oil fire.

LMFAOLMFAOLMFAOLMFAOLMFAO

The fucking hypocrisy is running rampant.

Yeah, because running @randowhale then using that money to attack anyone supporting the competition is not hypocrisy. No problem. I am done with this platform.

Good. Maybe people will use the SP you have delegated in more useful ways than you clearly do.

Toodaloo!

I am delegating it to whoever stands up to that guy whose ass contains your tongue.

I mean the power that @steempty is wasting on you thru @fminerten.

By all means. Keep using your voting power on me and bernie instead of sharing it with the community.

What community? This is not a community. It's a dictatorship ruled by bullies and their sockpuppets. Nothing more.

But you are right. Why downvote you if I can learn from your favorite ass to lick and just upvote myself? From now on, before upvoting anyone's content, I will be sure to check if they're followers of your master and treat their content accordingly (leave it to bernie to upvote). Thanks for the tip!

People on Steemit are overly cordial because they are actually trying to get a vote or something.

You just put all of the users in one basket for a freaking Upvote. As if Steemit is their 'bread n butter'?

To me, that level of behavior is low, pathetic, and a complete lie.

Why would you think so? May be they had a good upbringing. May be you are too used to other social medias and forgot the fact that Steemit is used by more mature users. I am certainly not questioning your wisdom or experience on Steemit because I know you have been here since long and very much involved in the community projects. Just curious to know.

It is much more useful and beneficial to a system to have users be open, honest, and not painting a pretty picture with lies.

Spot on, agreed ! but how do you scale that?

Honesty is already web scale!

And my head is spinning again. xD

I think unfortunately for those who care about the platform, it'll die. It's the vessel for bigger things, and we are the guinea pigs. The currency will live on in it's current form and through SMTs I'm sure, but to the detriment of the platform. It's already been noticed that none of the founders of Steemit actively post here. What does that say about it? That they are Gods who created a world but do not want to live in it? Great! :P

The system is flawed for sure, but using a bot is basically the same as advertising. It's true some people will boost their absolute shite, or perhaps like me boost their work that could be interesting to some but isn't mind blowing stuff either. Without bots upvoting me, my work is not seen. By using them intelligently I've been able to turn over a tiny profit which I hope will grow as the currency value goes up. As with advertising, you are able to put your product or content infront of a lot of people, for money. And the people can then decide if they want to vote on it or whatever, you still have the choice, but the author has made themselves a little sum of money ontop without your support. Why does that matter?

So, what does everyone expect? This isn't a charity website and people wanna get paid. It's here so we can continue creating content, as people did before on other platforms, but the content has a value now, a motive.

In conclusion. Fuck it. I love how the criticisms usually come from people who are doing something similar themselves, is it jealousy? Who knows. Anyway, it's a shame it all comes to this.

I would say Steem on, but probably just don't if it annoys you so much? There's a big world outside of Steemit and it's way waaaaaaaay cooler out there trust me.

Please do elaborate on how that's any different from your spamming threats and nonsensical comments, throwing your weight around and upvoting all of them with your sock puppet accounts?

Hypocritical twat. Seems like you've just got your panties in a bunch because others are doing what you've been doing all along Eh?

Seems to me like you've just been upvoting your garbage to build up your power to pick even more fights while you do the same thing.

Decentralization? Free speech? Yea right.... A mentally ill, psychotic man child like you are the ulcer of this platform and will be the downfall of it as well.

Now go ahead. Satiate your ego and compensate for that micropenis of yours by down voting me into the negatives buddy. You have my permission :)

How dare you threaten Steem's Central Bank of Abuse ?

To be honest, usually I'm not a huge fan of your type of communication, but this time you're spot on.

Minnowbooster is boosting everything but not minnows (a quick look at the trending page helps). Services like these are a nightmare for the platform's development.

Thanks for bringing this up!

You read my mind and got my last 100%!!!!! @berniesanders spoke up finally

One of the core ideas of steemit is to give value back to the ones who create value. Vote buying is completely against that philosophy, it's an offense to content cratores and will erode the quality standard we have. I'm happiest someone stood up and started to talk about it!!!

@berniesanders I'm curious. What would you like minnowbooster to do? Shut down? Or do you want them to change they way they run their business? I agree they cause a lot of damage to the rewards pool, so don't think I'm disagreeing. Im just curious what your proposed solution is.

Careful, looks like techslut is going to drop your rep a few points. You angered her.

Some of you might not like bernie...

But atleast he is one of the whales that actually cares about the platform long term. I cant even count how many scams he has broken up for the benifit to the rest of us.
Original curie, minnow curator...
I would have quit long ago without bernie.

You upvote yourself with multiple accounts and drain the pool in the same way for your own benefit. If you have a problem with others doing it why do you?

It has gotten to that point where minnows have to start looking for some sort of backdoor/hack to getting more exposure and better payouts.

Most people are not being encouraged to write good content anymore, it's already almost completely established that good content does not equal a fair amount of upvotes, only the big keep getting bigger and the little to share crumbs.

Even the bots that belong to the big find a way to rip us off our small earnings. Not that any of us are being forced to use them though
