I Might Be a Minnow!!!!

Hey, I might be a minnow!

Back in the heady days, there was a site called SteemItBoard that tracked account progress. SteemItBoard had a categorization for accounts based on VESTS. It would send messages as accounts progressed.

I found SteemIt to be extremely frustrating at the time. It took me a thousand posts to build my account to the redfish level.

Wow, that was six year ago.

I guess that means it took six years to raise from redfish to minnow.

I guess all things grow with time.

I was extremely burned out with SteemIt six years ago.

As it is extremely difficult for new accounts to earn STEEM, I argued that SteemItBoard should extend the classification. My idea was that new accounts with 0 VESTs should be considered part of a primordial ooze. They evolve into a basic carbon compound with the first vests and then into a protozoa.

An account reaches the algae level with a thousand vests and elevate to a krill with 10,000 VESTS.

My scale then proceeds through the levesl of redfish, minnow, dolphin, orca and whale.

I decided that the scale should have a level higher than whale; So, i added the kraken level.

A kraken has so much influence that it would topple the entire eco-system.

Justin Sun was the first Kraken.

Sadly, SteemItBoard and the blockchain explorers that I used to track my vests went to the ocean in the sky after the platform was broken by the kraken.

I started using SteemBlockExplorer. This site shows that I have 1,013,199 VESTS and 676.036 SP (note @vagabondspirit is currently delegating its 82 SP to my primary account).

The site says that my upvote is worth $0.0041.

That means I am a redfish account!

I put my classification of accounts below. I find the term "plankton" useful as there is a huge number of accounts that simply float about without enought STEEM POWER to have a significant impact on upvotes.

• 0 Accounts start as part of the Primordial Ooze
• 1 - 9 is a Carbon Compound
• 10 - 99 is a Protein Strand
• 100 - 999 is a Protozoa
• 1,000 - 9,999 is Algae
• 10,000 - 99,999 is Krill
• 100,000 - 999,999 is Redfish
• 1,000,000 - 9,999,999 is a Minnow
• 10,000,000 - 99,999,999 is a Dolphin
• 100,000,000 - 999,999,999 is an Orca
• 1,000,000,000 - 999,999,999,999 is a Whale
• 10,000,000,000 and over is a Kraken.

I asked NightCafe to generate an image of a minnow for this post. AI generated images are considered near public domain.

I feel silly that I let such an important event such as my transformation from Redfish to Minnow slide by. It's just that the sites I was using the monitor the account went blank.
