Are You Having Trouble Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone?
People cross your boundaries based on their level of understanding, some in small scope (uncivilized) and some on a deeper level (civilized people). Those uncivilized will drag you down to their level by harassing you with words and those civilized will stab you in the back methodically. It is important to have a strategy in dealing with both of these groups of people. For the uncivilized, you can spot them immediately and you can sense that dealing with such people will not end well, so when you see them ignore them. Don't let them think you are weak or that you are their friend who can be treated poorly or with disrespect. And for those who are civilized, they are tricky. They don't show themselves as such and they provoke you to leave your comfort zone and sometimes these people succeed. When you felt that someone is pressuring you to leave your comfort zone, remember that there was a reason you positioned yourself inside this comfort zone and that no one can make you cross it unless you want to and when you are ready. Don't be affected by TV and movies who advertise a certain kind of behavior. Don't let peer pressure wear you down, because you will regret it later because if you insist on doing it, you have to let everyone know that you owned your mistake and this lead to more mistakes in the same fashion as before. It is better to stop it right from the beginning and choose another route, which you are comfortable with.
When you leave your comfort zone unexpectedly, this may lead to psychological problems and dissociation of personality and even fragmentation and bipolar disorder because you feel you are not whole. So, you create another person who leaves this comfort zone and it is this person who is hurt and not you. That is what you tell yourself in order to protect your true self as a sort of defense mechanism.
The point is prevent people from crossing your boundaries and don't come out of your comfort zone unless you are ready to explore. If you decide to get out of your comfort zone, think about what you are willing to try out and think about what you would feel after the event is over. Do you feel proud of yourself or ashamed of yourself. Does this new experience help you become a more happier and fulfilled person or just makes you deny your actual emotions to prove you can actually do it.
