Why is it Important to Alleviate Boredom and Repetition in Workspace?

in #mindset6 years ago

Hello, Steemians!

As we have established before, your workspace and the way you handle your tasks greatly affects your general productivity.

Humans are, as you may well know, creatures of habit who constantly get used to new patterns.

The causality of experiencing something new and then getting used to it so as to make it something casual is bewildering in the realm of expectations.

That being said, it is crucial to understand the cycle of habit and repetition in your workspace.

A lot of people tend to believe that they should grow to love a job that they repeatedly do with no change or improvement whatsoever.

The truth is that we need an incentive much greater than what we are usually permitted within the boundaries of the current workspace circumstances.

Repetition will distinguish the flame of passion in any job.

That is why many people enter a job with excitement and motivation but end up resenting it. Because the job becomes an interminable routine much like a lot of things that we do every day.

Imagine if you had to eat the same food every meal of the week. After a couple of days, you would grow to resent eating altogether.

image1.jpg

We do not bring variety to our meals merely because we need different vitamins and proteins for our health. There is also a psychological reasoning behind this decision.

Repetition gives way to boredom and boredom eventually becomes resentment.

If you want to have a healthy and long career in the profession of your choice, you need to understand that the most significant thing to do in that job is not the tasks themselves, but the idea that you must repeatedly improve and seek greater horizons.

As repetition brings about boredom, ambition gives way to creativity and excitement.

image2.jpg
img src

The idea that you should seek to improve yourself at every given opportunity will make you bolder and your decisions will excite you to the point of reliving the same fire that kindled your passion in the first place.

We need to treat our job the same way we treat our thoughts or food. We should wake up every day in the hope of doing something new and innovative. Something that could help us grow as a professional.

Only then will we strive towards greatness with excitement and creativity. Anything other than that and we fall into the trap of despair, as we dedicate our hidden thoughts to hatred for the job that we are doing.

When you get up every day and start your work, think about your mundane routines and try to alleviate your boredom by changing them or growing more ambitious.

A good technique is to do something in less time than what you are already used to. For example, if you answer to the mail in an hour, try to do it in half an hour and give yourself the challenge.

It is important to understand that excitement and incentive are two powerful tools in any business, whether it is a lonely experiment or a social teamwork.

Resist against the infatuation of profession and rekindle your original excitement by becoming more ambitious, self-aware, and creative in your work environment!

A BIG HUG!

Magic Dice has rewarded your post with a 37% upvote. Thanks for playing Magic Dice.

Sometimes jumping from new things to new things would lead to catching things without end, with no satisfaction.

Its like owning a gadget, if there's something new, we change, then comes another new, we change again, a never ending change is burdensome.

Excellent motivation @chbartist and you are right, must always be ambitious in your work. Very often, we and I, among other things, do our work automatically, which may simply get boring at some time, and here it is very important to show new thinking and approach to our work, which will give us new strength and creativity!

Hello @chbartist!

excellent theme of your publication, the relief of boredom at work.

A way to keep the spark alive in the workplace, which will maintain continuous improvement, whether it is the completion of training courses, as in studies of new strategies, or the use of new tools, which will keep us updated and active in the Work in our labor field.

It is also advisable to provide and apply new routines that are generated as a result of the evaluation of our own performance, making us run our limits, forcing each to be more efficient, breaking the monotony and avoiding boredom labor

Hi @chbartist Such a lovely post you shared here loved each word of it but want to highlight few lines which have great meaning.

If you want to have a healthy and long career in the profession of your choice, you need to understand that the most significant thing to do in that job is not the tasks themselves, but the idea that you must repeatedly improve and seek greater horizons.

Thanks Friend for your efforts..

I always feel striking that balance between routine and spontaneity is not hard, but when you get hit that certain note, it's the sweet spot to happiness or whatever is closest to the elusive 'feeling' humans ever strive for (not unlike 'love').

I am a creature of habit, I seek it out in many ways. There is a happiness in the repetition to me, but more on an overall scale, such as the repetition of the seasons, which are large scale patterns and within that, if a bit of spontaneity can exist, that seems to make things a bit more 'fun'.

Though, come Spring I always plant seedlings on window sills and plan out gardens, which is the same, but WHAT I plant and where changes, thus my 'sweet spot'.

IN work (mine being an artist) this is similar. My studio often goes through various arrangements as it gives one the 'feeling' of control over environment and a look of 'change' within the stability of routine.

Well thought out @chbartist

Adding dynamic tasks to your role and responsibilities is a great way to tackle boredom at work. It helps experiment with new experiences that can encourage changes in thought process and ultimately more engagement from yourself!

Hello @chberstist.

Have a boring job depends on ourselves. Creativity and motivation should help us change it. If it is not possible to change change of workplace, we can make it more fun in a group, if we work on team. You can try to group dynamics, small social meetings at the end of the day or with friendly competences to reach a goal

Sometimes, habit leads us to situations that may seem comfortable but prevent us from growing. One way to alleviate boredom is to be in continual formation. Live goes on and we need not only to adapt, but also to be able to navigate in uncertainty, transforming what it might seem conventional now, in possibilities and new practices. Briefly, attitude matters. Thanks for your insights @chbartist.

Monotone repetition kills creativity, kills the Soul! Now I work at a company, where I do the same every day (making cable-kits for some electric device). I do that just for money, and will end working there by 31 March, because I'm so fed up. Then I'll try very different ways, like building a community for a brand new Hungarian blockchain system. I'll post of it soon!
