How Minimalism Can Save Your Life by Reducing the Weight on Your Brain!!

in #mindset6 years ago (edited)

Hi, Steemians!

It is a common saying that everybody comes with baggage. The weight that you are carrying on your shoulders has a huge impact on your thoughts and decisions.

This weight is the sum of everything you experience every day. Your thoughts, feelings, obligations, decisions, actions, victories, failures, shortcomings, expectations, beliefs, and etc.

There is one other saying that I would like to bring to your attention

‘The mountains you are carrying, you were supposed to climb.’

The quote goes, indicating the weight that we bear on our minds, hearts, and souls.

If you are feeling weary, anxious, overloaded, and exhausted by the thoughts, decisions, actions, and deeds of the everyday ordinary life, then you need to slow down and think for a second.

Our brains were not fully adjusted by the natural evolution to be able to process the amount of information that we are dealing with today.

The sudden ripple of progress in technology and modernization has left us craving for simplicity in the darkest corners of our mind.

You want simplicity, but you dare not admit it to yourself and those who are around you. You fear missing out on a lot of stuff, but deep down in your heart, you couldn’t care less about having an ordinary life of pure focus and dedication.

Minimalism can save your life, even though the image of that word might implicate something undesirable in your mind.

If that is the case, then you can be sure that you are brainwashed by the constant and incessant feed of information that you are receiving by living in today’s society.

Unplugging, as cowardly as it might initially seem, is the greatest choice you could make for your life.

There are many things to attend to everyday. Obligations to fulfill. Decisions to take care of.

Progress to make.

Trust me, friends, as courageous and strong as you are, the weight is eventually going to wear you down and make you a lifeless shell of existential crisis walking the earth and going on about your business.

Sometimes, if you really want to make progress, you need to slow down and eliminate your options.

Minimalism is the idea of being content with something that you truly desire, and forsake everything else without wasting the needless time and energy trying to maintain their presence in your life.

Eliminate your extra and unnecessary options. If there is a weight on your shoulder that is needlessly slowing you down, make a note to yourself and eliminate that weight.

Remember the words, my friends:

We were supposed to climb the mountains of life, and not carry them on our shoulders.

A BIG HUG!

Nice thought. Usually, when people talk about minimalism, they talk about minimalism in the area of material possessions - which is something I already practice, because, beside reducing clutter it also saves money (all the things I don't need to buy!).

Recently, I've read (listened to) the book by Sarah Knight "The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a... ", well, you probably know what. It basically talks about decluttering in your mental space, specifically your perceived obligations to people around you and society in general, without being rude and/or unpleasant person to deal with.

This reminded me of a documentary I recently viewed on Netflix called "Heal." It pretty much touches on the same topic you have here - the importance and impact a heavy mind can have on your entire body and life.

Honestly who doesn't feel better after decluttering or "spring cleaning?"

Dear @chbartist
At present, the whole game has become of the brain. The more success the experiment uses. Undoubtedly the burden of expectations or the burden of work becomes more than necessary, then it becomes natural to bend. This is also true with the brain. Today the person is acting like a machine. To fulfill the expectations, the burden of stress on your brain is because it is a burden that does not apply to our brain or body on our shoulders.
Completes 3 years children are put in schools, where they are messed up with their brain. More burden is imposed on them than their mental capacity. Some children become bright minded, but some lose their mental balance.
This is happening exactly like the mountains which we should have mounted on the mountain, and they are moving on the head. thank you

Hi!
I must confess that I discovered minimalism just a year ago and my life had a great turn (for good) when I started to practice and live its way. After that I also had the chance to move out and it was easier and simpler to do it.

Thanks for sharing :)

I believe in minimalism. Not only to the clutter in this physical world but to the spiritual realm as well. Minimalism in isms and followings will help your mind settle and rest. Nothing is permanent and you don't have to have fear and urge to collect.

In the day we have so many things to do and what to think that when the end of the day we are completely exhausted, that exhausts our brains, it is true, we must concentrate on less things, things that are really necessary.

Great post @chbartist, This post is actually fit me in the present day. I was busy carrying the unnecessary load and was busy on unnecessary thing That why I was not unable to give time to steemit. and miss many valuable posts. You will know why and where i was busy by reading my latest post and don't forget to bless my daughter-in-law.
Regards
@kshahrck

This is a long term goal I have as I have auto-imposed a life full of things competing for my attention. It has not allowed me to spend time on the things I enjoy most but have cone to realize it on time and therefore am seeking to minimize it in the coming years. Simple is good!

You have spread the light of your knowledge on a very important topic, a person is effectively able to understand its prophecy with any decision making, with this, it is also necessary to determine that all the best one will remain the best.
