5 steps with which you deepen your meditation practice and reach a deeper awareness

Below, I'll show you the most important steps and criteria that will tell you where you are at the moment, how to deepen your awareness, and how to get to your heart level in 5 steps . This is about extending your consciousness to the entire day, even beyond the 10 minutes on your meditation cushion.


Step 1: How aware are you of your thoughts?

First, define your current level of awareness. Wondering how much you are already aware of all the thoughts you think during the day? How often do you still fall into unconscious thinking or even pondering?


If you still often unconsciously think, then your first task is to expand your consciousness more and more about the day. Once you realize that you have unconscious moments, go back along the chain of thought to the last conscious thought. You are ready for the next step as soon as you are aware of your thoughts for most of the day.


Step 2:  Stretch your meditation practice on body and feelings of

Once you are able to observe your thoughts regularly, it is time to become aware of your bodily sensations and, in the next step, your feelings.


Come back to your body and emotions throughout the day . How do you feel in your body? How do your different parts of the body feel right now? What feelings arise in you? How often are you aware of your feelings?

It is important to extend the awareness that you have during your meditation practice to the entire day outside of this ritual.


At some point the entire day is a conscious awareness. For this you have to go back to your inner life. You can then be 50% inside with your perception and 50% outside. For example, when talking to other people, you are also connected to your inner self.


Step 3: Strengthen the contact with body and emotions

This step is about deepening what you learned from step 2. Expand your consciousness to all parts of the body until you are able to name how your little toe or even internal organs feel. Even if it is currently impossible for you, with a lot of attention and a lot of practice, it is possible.


In addition to the body sensations, also enter into a deeper connection with your feelings. So you beside the basic feelings:

Step 4: Minimize your external dependencies

Try to distract as little as possible with external stimuli. Most people use these stimuli as an escape from unpleasant feelings that they do not want to feel. However, it is a vicious circle, because feelings do not dissolve until we fully feel them.

Stop thinking. Be in the feeling and let go completely. Let yourself fall into your inner center and stop following your thoughts. Instead, look at what you want to feel in yourself. Only in this way can you get further into the depths, into the inner space of peace and love.

You may be wondering what this deep meditation practice has to do with your self-realization. It is essential! Because we can only realize ourselves if we have recognized ourselves in the core. Only when we feel who we are independent of the influences of the outside world and without our thoughts, we can hear the way of our heart.


Only then does the constant search for happiness cease because you have found happiness in yourself. Then at some point an impulse comes from the depths of your heart.
