Milano & Lugano Trip

Short video of my trip to Milan and Lugano!

Venice was on my top list of places to visit but I was willing to see more cities in Italy on the same holidays. So when I found a cheap flight from London to Milan the idea of being close to Switzerland made me include Lugano on the route for a day trip. And that's what I did before heading south by train to Venice.

It was pooring all the time I spent in Milan and made it difficult to bet on going on the Bernina Express (that's what I really wanted to do instead of a day trip to Lugano). Also wish I had included Verona on this journey as well. The train stops there on the way from Milan to Venice so a stop over would have been great!

I couldn't explore Milan much to be honest. The rain was relentless and get sick was not on my plans for this trip. For sure the Duomo should not be missed (very impressive)!

Lugano was easy to access by train and a beautiful surprise to explore as there was still some snow in the mountains. It seems in the winter we only see locals there which gives a good sense how "real life" is out there.

If you travel from Milano to Lugano don't forget to take you passport or ID with you. It's close but you will be entering other country and random checks are in place on the train at the border!

Safe tavels!
