Repairing Microsoft Office
Often times office apps such as Word, Excel, outlook, access, PowerPoint, or publisher have issues. This can range anywhere from a single or all the applications won't open to just a minor visual glitch.
Doing an online repair of the office install will repair many issues you may be having with office and the steps are quite simple. Doing the repair will not remove any files you have created, but it may clear any temporary saves. So make sure that you have any important files saved to the latest copy and into a location you know how to get to.
Here is a quick video walkthrough, or there are text-based instructions below:
The Steps are:
From Start select Settings to launch Windows Settings (or press Windows key + I to open settings)
From Windows Settings choose Apps. (It might take a few moments for the Apps list to load)
Find Microsoft Office on the list and select it.
Select Modify and in the menu that opens choose Online Repair
The online repair option may take 10-15 minutes, afterward, office will be fully repaired of any corrupt or missing files. You could try the online repair instead, which will take a shorter amount of time. Personally, I prefer to start with the online repair which takes a little longer, but insures any issues that can be fixed with this method are fixed.
You can find more information/instructions on this in the link below. Additionally, if this does not fix the issue there is also a tool to fully remove office so that a completely clean install can be performed if needed.
