What Is MGTOW?
The icon above illustrates a deviation away from the well trodden path laid out for men to follow. For those of you who don't know, MGTOW is an acronym meaning "Men Going Their Own Way". Put simply, this describes men who refuse romantic commitment with women. Generally this means rejection of marriage, cohabitation and long term relationships. Although it could go as far as abstinence (monking) or living off the grid (ghosting). This is not a political movement, but rather a collection of individuals who share some commonalities (i.e. rejection of marriage). MGTOW is fundamentally a reaction to the modern environment.
Herbivore Men (Grass Eaters)
An easy way to understand MGTOW is through the case study of Japanese herbivore men. It's estimated around 30%+ of young males around 20-40 years old identify as herbivore men. These men are single, not looking, live very minimalistically i.e. working part time, and have limited interaction with women. Their sexual activity is very low. This is a phenomenon that starting happening in Japan over a decade ago, especially due to economic problems after 1997.
One thing about Japanese culture is it places an enormous stress on "salary men" who can expect to work 60~80 hours a week for most of his adult life, and give all of his money to his wife, who in turn gives him a small allowance. Some herbivore men would like to have a family but simply can't mange that. Most of them don't though. They see through the game. Modern Japan is plagued with problems like a low fertility rate and an aging population. The herbivore men is not the cause of this problem, they are but a symptom. Another relevant phenomenon is "hikikomori" men who refuse to leave their bedroom.
Problems In The West
MGTOW is fundamentally a western phenomenon, at least originally (now it is global). Fundamentally it is a reaction to the current environment we find ourselves in, which is called "gynocentrism". Gynocentrism means female centered, favouring women. This may at first sound like an impossibility or a contradiction to some. When I tell this to people and they say "that's impossible" this shows the invisibility of men and our problems. How can the "oppressor" be oppressed? Homelessness, male suicide rate, divorce rape, spermjacking, white knighting, hypergamy, promiscuity, instawhoring, false rape accusation, sexual harassment, "hate speech" apologies, feminism etc. All these contribute to what is a now a very hostile environment. If you can't see it, then you bought the "Myth Of Male Power".
A man who sees this, that society sees him as a disposable utility, sees the game, that the odds are stacked against him, the game is rigged, sees the only way to win is not to play.
Keep up the great work @itstimetostop
