Lakshadweep is an Indian archipelago located in the Indian Ocean in the south-west of India. Its capital is Kavratya.
Lakshadweep is the smallest in all the Union Territories. The landmark of the Lakshadweep Islands is from lava emanating from ancient volcanic eruptions. It is located in the Arabian Sea about 300 kilometers away from the mainland of India.
There are total 36 islands in the Lakshadweep Islands, but there are only 7 islands on life. Native tourists are permitted to go to 6 islands while foreign tourists are allowed to visit only 2 islands (Agati and Bangaram).
