At age 25, along with his brother Abraham, he was arrested in Sacramento, California, USA, for heroin trafficking, the three Was released on parole but deported to Mexico, where he served as a police officer in Cabo Corrientes and Tomatlán in the state of Jalisco. May 2015 marks a before and after in the history of Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho", leader of the New Generation Jalisco Cartel (CJNG). He showed the Mexican state the extent of its force by ordering the demolition of an Army helicopter (8 dead soldiers)and narco coordinated blockades and civil desorden in three states of the country, in reaction to an operation to capture him.

Until now it is unknown how many people work for the organization, but what is known is that the security of the capo is in charge of exmarines and soldiers . Is believed to have ordered the assassination of several Mexican politicians.

The CJNG has a presence in at least 13 Mexican states - in addition to Mexico City.
El Mencho 'uses Pacific routes to traffic drugs and import cocaine from Colombia and China's ephedrine.
US justice claims that the CJNG also has ties to other criminal organizations in the United States, Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia.
