FUNNY MATH FOR CHILDREN PART I: THE GAME OF METRAS OR BALLS
Mathematics is fundamental for life because its understanding will allow young people to study in the future some of the careers with the greatest number of outlets such as Engineering. It is not easy to learn to solve exercises, but it is much more fun when mathematics is learned while playing. And what a priori is difficult and tedious ends up becoming easy games for children as they learn. In this opportunity it will be describing how the game of the metras intuitively and at an early age forms bases for the mathematical logical development of an individual.
The game of the metras is to draw a circle in the sand or on the floor, where each participant must place a number of meters to be agreed between the parties and then one of the participants tries to take off with a shot using a meter as much as possible of the metras that were placed inside the circle.
However. Where are the mathematics?
The mathematical notions that develop at an early age are: The concept of Circle, Circumference, Diameter, Radio and Sphere Concept, which are used in university careers such as Engineering when studying Geometry.
