If you've never heard of words like the "Gold-rush" or the myth of the city called "El Dorado" , or you've never seen a movie on them, then i'd be right to say "there's something wrong with history books or history classes around you", that would be on a lighter note any way. There's something happening now on steemit.com you just might not want to miss. But before i tell you what it is,i'll do the honour of helping you do a peek into history.

EL DORADO
EL DORADO is a myth about a city enriched in gold. Originally, the story started as a myth that circulated in the spanish empire back when the spaniards and portugese were sailing kings and known for voyages that discovered major lands you now know and some you probably can't pronounce. The spaniard sailors and travellers then, spread a myth of a "ZIPA" or "chief" who was of the "muisca" a native tribe from the part of the country now known as columbia. The chief would cover himself in golddust and submerge himself in the "lake Guatavita". He was popularly known as "EL REY DORADO" which means "the golden king" or "EL HOMBRE DORADO" which means "the golden man". Overtime, people transformed this myth from EL Dorado being a man till it eventually became the myth of a city.

A gold rush is a new discovery of gold—sometimes accompanied by other precious metals and rare earth minerals—that brings an onrush of miners seeking their fortune.
The first significant gold rush in the United States was in Cabarrus County, North Carolina (east of Charlotte), in 1799 at today's Reed's Gold Mine
