Why didn't you add that you would remove the flag if he removed the tag, like you did with the few others that have erroneously used your tag?
The flag plus your short message is bound to annoy people and these are people that probably enter your contest too.
I note that you haven't been flagging people who use your tag but aren't entering a contest. Your lack of consistency is quite telling.
I didn't write it because I don't have 3 rows of text saved and then copy/paste it. I am writting it every time when I see that someone is abusing the tag. Memechallenge has around 400 entries per week + 100 tag abuse posts. Jugding is really hard when people use that tag for posts that are not about memechallenge itself. You notice wrong I am flagging all posts that I see. Except when I see that memechallenge is first tag so I know that people can't change it so I leave comment . Yes you are right I must write some universal comment with few rows and just spam those posts with it
Yes I imagine bad tags are a pain with so many entries, but most people use your tag out of ignorance rather than abuse, so it might be better to ask them to change it and then flag the ones who don't.
Yes my mistake, I can see that you are flagging all now.
So, you downvote people for using a semantically nonspecific tag that you want to control and you don't even have it mentioned in your challenge instructions that you claim 100% control over the tag?
Dick move.
I thought a #memechallenge tag is something that would be open for everybody and was trying to get my post seen by more people. I don't plan on doing it again, as I don't want to hurt you feelings because I do appreciate the challenge that you run.
Still, downvoting me? You're just being a dick out of a need to control something that's fair public use.
Hey philosophist, would you mind changing your last tag? I think Fibra will remove the flag if you do. He said he would in the comments to other people that he flagged and to be fair he started the tag for his contest last year.
You got caught up in a one-sided war- Fibra is all bent outta shape because this contest is similar to his. However, the steemcleaners answer to his plagarism accusation was to tell him that competition is healthy.
@cathi-xx Done. I hope you are right about @fibra59 removing the flag.
@fibra59 I've had to take a step back from this all day. Seeing your downvote got me erked early in the morning, when I tend to be touchy anyway.
Serious suggestion: if you want a tag for your competition, make it specific like #fibramemechallenge. That solution is obvious to me but I gotta deal with the fact that my solutions aren't obvious to everyone. #memechallenge is too general for you to win that fight. I also imagine that a significant part of your beef is organization, which I can understand is hard with what steemit devs give us so far. People will leave a specific-to-you tag alone. Save your vote power.
That said, I haven't looked at your responses yet because I'm not in a good headspace to do so. I'll check it all out when I am feeling better. I'll aim to put out any bridge fires when I do.
I have created memechallenge tag long time ago to make memechallenge judging possible. Then people started to spam that tag and we cannot find memechallenge entries because people use it for posts that aren't even memes. I am removing every flag after people remove tag or if they put memechallenge as first tag then I just wait them to answer. As I said I will remove flagg as soon as you remove tag.
And of course your comment is flagged because of hate speech.
Thanks.
I removed the tags. Being the first to use a tag doesn't make you the patent or trademark owner of the tag. It is your own personal limitations which prevent you from reviewing and judging the entries from others. You have to click on every page anyway and you can at least see the meme in my post as not yours. You can even go so far as to have people use a specific marker for the title of their post, like "Fibra Meme Challenge."
You have options which will make judging just as effective without claiming that memechallenges are your exclusive property to control. You should use them to save yourself the wasted energy and money fighting everyone about it.
Also, where did you learn the term "hate speech?" It doesn't apply to every insult. Hate speech is attacking a minority over aspects that are outside of their control. Calling you a "dick" is meant to convey that you are behaving poorly, which you can control easily as soon as you try.
Honestly, I'm not going to threaten you or try to get more involved in this dispute that you are refusing to be rational about, but I want you to consider what it looks like down the road when more people get pissed over your lack of reasoning here. @gonzo's being chill, as are others who want peace, but as soon as that peace is broken the number of people who disagree with you will overwhelm you with the use of the tag. You'll be pinched out and there will be more who are encouraged to make their own Meme Challenge.
Strategically, you should just quit while you are ahead and let people do what they will. That way, it will take longer for competitors to be encouraged to compete with you and you will save yourself a LOT of hassle. IOW
